Miami Dolphins: Is Richie Incognito Becoming the Victim in Bullying Incident?
COMMENTARY | Like the Miami Dolphins' season, the NFL bullying matter with Richie Incognito and Jonathan Martin is backfiring in the worst of ways.
The latest NFL rumors circulating suggest that a line of loyal Dolphins players are pledging their support for Incognito in the wake of racist and hazing allegations, according to a post out today by National Football Post.
Meanwhile - and this is a big one - Jonathan Martin is becoming the fall guy and Richie Incognito is being hailed as a "tense," "spirited," "playful" and "honorary black man." ...
Out of habit, some people often chime in or share their opinion about a person, place or thing even before all the facts are learned.
Up to this point, most of what is known is from media sources who paint Incognito as an out-of-control bullying racist with a troubled past dating back to 2002.
And while somewhat of a smoking gun, that reveals a racially-charged and threatening voice mail has been released to the public, it's only a portion of what really went down between the so-called bosom buddies. ...
The simple truth is that horsing around is part of the bonding process and the NFL culture is not exempt from giving new players the business.
However, there is a fine line that shouldn't be crossed just for the sake of tradition. As Clint Eastwood said in Magnum Force, "A man's got to know his limitations."
Perhaps, Incognito and Martin are guilty for not knowing they both had any.
