Guess I haven't noticed it as much but I've been reading how Dion Jordan is functioning as a LB and doing quite well. Even if Miami sticks with a 4-3, any chance they can bite the bullet on Wheeler's contract and have Jordan starting there next year?

Heck, if they went to a 3-4 you basically get rid of Wheeler anywway with Misi and Ellerbe in the middle, Wake and Jordan on the edges.

Wheeler is here for the next couple years. Too much dead cap if they get rid of him.

In a 43, Jordan's use should be dictated by match-up. Use him as an X-factor.

Against NE, line him up on Gronk and let him rush the passer from all over. Against the Jets, keep him on the edge. Against Carolina let him spy Newton and cover Olsen. Buffalo, move him around and try to confuse Manuel.

No need to fit him into a specific position or role in this defense. But whatever they do, just put him on the field more.

That is what I was worried about. Maybe he improves.

Just seems like Jordan might have the ability to take that position and run with it. Seems to do a good job covering TEs.

Seems like Jason Taylor was used kind of like that and it worked out ok.

Philip Wheeler had his best grade in pass coverage all season (+1.5). Against Antonio Gates, he didn’t allow a catch on two targets, including a pass defensed. He allowed just two catches overall.

Any chance Miami is willing to dust of the 3-5 defense?!?!?
Run Cover 3 all day
Have Wake and Jordan play OLB
Wheeler switches to MLB..... kinda playing center field in the defense.... SS/Monster LB style
Misi takes SILB
Ellerbe takes the true SILB
Run with a 3 man line, Soliai back at the nose, Starks and Odrick on the Ends
