I remember people busting on KC for that pick. I think the word serious reach was used several times.

Real kicker here is I read that Cordy Glenn was Miami's first choice and went off the board 1 pick before they took Jonathan Martin. DOIF!!!

Harris has been one of the Jets best play makers in the secondary this year. Again, this is another situation where Rex Ryan's Defensive pressure schemes help create opportunities for its secondary. Revis really wasn't that good, and the scheme really made him what he is. And they definitely fleeced TB for that first round pick.

Harris has been a standout for the Jets, but its the system that has kinda aided him into it. Which really just goes to show that Sexy Rexy is able to find players to fit his scheme.

He's been coaching for 5 years now in NY. Their team does NOT have all that much talent on it, but at least it has the players to fit its system. At least on the defensive side of the ball.

This is all just one more reason why I will again preach patience with this coaching staff. The constant turnover of our coaching styles have really handicapped the Dolphins from letting players develop into our coaches image. This is not a matter of changing our scheme to fit the players, which every one has been yelling and screaming about. While a good coach will take what he has, and beat you with what he already has like shula did, and belichick does now. At least they had a chance to bring in their system first.

Im sorry, every offensive system has an off tackle run. If your RB's are more geared towards upfield running, you call more of this play out of your playbook. But you have to install your playbook, and find out what plays work best with the personnel you have. This coaching staff is still trying to figure out their personnel. How many new starters are there this season over last season? at least half the offense were new starters.... patience, the co ordination will come.. If now, its back to the drawing board, and wait 5 more years til the new regime puts their pieces together.

Rex may only be a great defensive mind. But at least every player on that team has had the time to adjust to the Ryan way. And by accepting that, the newer ones (2nd year players) have the ability to excell... and Harris is a good example of this reality in action

Yes. Nevermind the fact that he is the top ranked corner according to PFF.

Nevermind that QBs are only completing 51% of the passes thrown his way, he's only allowed 1 TD while intercepting 2 passes and QBs have a 45.8 rating when throwing his way.

He's allowed 19 receptions for 128 yards, 1 TD and 2 picks and you think he wasn't that good?

C'mon bro...

ok and what are Richard Sherman's numbers and stats on those same exact metrics?? and do them over the past three years if possible.

TB has played the (Brady, Tannehill, Brees, Smith, Palmer, Wilson, Newton, Ryan x2, Foles)
Tampa is allowing 240.3 and with their record, have not seen much passing against them in the 4th quarter

Seattle has played (Newton, Kaepernick, Henne, Schaub, Luck, Fitzpatrick, Palmer, Bradford, Glennon, Ryan, Ponder)
Seattle is allowing 180.4 and usually leading their games, do see alot of passing against them in the 4th quarter

I will stand by my statement as before. Revis was the toast of the league as the "best" cornerback in the league with out dispute. AND CROWNED BY HIS COACH AND HIMSELF. All i mean to say is he isnt as good as he thinks he is, especially when I think Sherman is better...... good player, absolutely. Better than anyone on the Dolphins? I'll make a case for Grimes but I'd lose. Worth a trade for a 1st round pick coming off an acl injury, definitely not

Richard Sherman is ranked 7th.

25 catches for 410 yards, 2 TDs, 4 INTs, 65.5 rating.

Looking at last year is not valid since Revis missed most of the season, but

2011 - ranked #1

2010 - ranked #17

2009 - ranked #2

2008 - ranked #3

He's that good man. Stop while you're ahead...

I think Joe Haden is the best corner now. Freakin stud, can shut anyone down.

He's ranked 13th.

33 catches for 308 yards, 2 TDs, 3 INTs, 56.8 QB rating.

Sean Smith and Vontae Davis are ranked ahead of him.

Stats against corners are one of the most misleading things out there.

You can only measure what's been thrown at them... what about what hasn't been, maybe due to great coverage?

exactly...can't use stats for everything. I'll take Haden by a mile. Nobody does well against him.

Well unless you have film of every snap he's taken this season, stats and PFF analysis are the best we've got.

You can only measure data, correct.

I trust it more than speculation. Maybe due to great coverage, maybe due to progressions that require the QB to go elsewhere.

Lots of maybes.

Stats, especially several dimensions of stats, are tangible metrics.

all I know is Haden takes down elite receivers routinely. Makes them non-factors. They called him the new Revis on fantasy live tonite.
