Soliai's agent said he spoke to Jeff Ireland last week and that they had a good conversation.

Soliai is supposedly looking for a 5-year deal in the $6-8 million/year range, with two guaranteed y

I hope Soliai was hurt because I sure saw him get pushed around an awful lot this season.

Is he still the run stopping plug we need? For sure I want to see Starks gone.

Of course, someone can whip out the stat sheet and tell me different, but to my eyes and opinion both fell off in play this season in terms of being that middle wall against the running backs.

If I were going to keep one of the two, it would be Soliai. That said, there is no way he would get a 5-6 year deal. 3 year deal at the most.

Not so sure we sign him back. I think we're gonna draft a cheaper option.

Like the rest I think it's one or the other, so take your pick really. I think realistically they already know, now it just depends on the money standpoint.

Usually guys play lights out in a contract year, imagine how sorry he will be after he signs a big deal.

If Coyle goes and Miami return to a 3-4 defense then Soliai has to be re-signed.

I could see him getting a 4 year deal to finish out his career in Miami, or at least his seasons as an impact guy.

He played well this year and often occupied two blockers for his teammates. Problem was his linebackers sucked and were often out of position.

Soliai, Starks and Odrick all graded out top 20 according to PFF.

exactly, and look how long it took him to even develop into a good tackle, This guy annoys me. Too hit or miss.

Nothin' hit or miss about him.

He had piss poor linebackers behind him not making plays and often out of position.

Teams weren't running at Soliai.

I don't think Ireland should be negotiating with or signing anyone to anything until Ross is done with his "thinking."

And what the frak is taking Ted Wells so long?!

Teams weren't running at Soliai.

I think Soliai played hurt the past several weeks and it did seem teams were running at him and his play tailed off. The linebackers definitely got blown off the ball way too many times as well, but Soliai's play definitely was not pro bowl caliber as he performed the past two years.

I don't like Coyle's defensive philosophy either if I am not mistaken he took over a top ten defense and we are now in the bottom 20???
