When asked last year what he likes about a particular player (Chris Clemons), Philbin said: β€œHe keeps his mouth [shut].”

That philosophy is why Philbin either wanted to dump or was perfectly fine with losing productive players who spoke out, from Brandon Marshall to Reggie Bush to Karlos Dansby – all of whom were highly productive elsewhere. Ireland, of course, also had a major part in this.

Bill Cowher won a Superbowl, but so did Tony Dungy.

I like how the pats keep things in house more than the jets.

I think all of that is just preference really. There are multiple paths to victory, a team just needs a real leader to show them a way.

I do think a team becomes a reflection of its coach. The steelers were tough, the colts played smart, the pats are tricky, and the jets are loud, obnoxious, and suck.

The Dolphins are average.

This is interesting: I'm told Philbin wanted to trade for Branden Albert last year but Ireland said Dolphins would be fine with Martin at LT

No doubt, the Phins are a reflection of their coach.......confused and lack identity.
