Report: Dolphins hire Mark Duffner as LB coach

The Dolphins are off to a fast start at the Senior Bowl this week, filling their lone open coaching position by hiring Mark Duffner as the new linebacker coach, according to a report by the Florida Times-Union.

Duffner, 60, has been the Jacksonville Jaguars linebacker coach under three different head coaches -- Jack Del Rio, Mike Mularkey and Gus Bradley. He's been with the Jaguars since 2006.

He worked for the Packers in the mid 2000s when Dolphins head coach Joe Philbin was on that same staff thus the familiarity.

Duffner has 17 seasons of NFL experience ...

Hey I'm happy with the way he has coached Paul Posluszny. In Paul's 3 years in Jax he has a defensive touchdown along with 7 INTS a forced fumble and a recovery. Along with 121 tackles this year, I'm pretty impressed. Considering Ellerbe and Wheeler had around 80 and 83 each.

This kind of stuff reminds me of when Katrina hit New Orleans, and none of the heads of FEMA actually had any experience managing emergency situations. I think they were lawyers and politicians.
Friends promote friends.
Hopefully these new friends do better than Sherman.

I kinda hope Lazor excels and takes over the team.
