If anyone wants to know why we want to overpay for Albert, this is the reason. Tannehill's backside needs to be protected.

Quote:
SAD SACKS

The Dolphins offensive line surrendered the most sacks during the 2013 season. They hope the addition of Branden Albert - and others - will change things dramatically in 2014:

Team ... QB Hits ... Sacks ...

1. Dolphins ... 100 ... 58 ...
2. Jaguars ... 100 ... 50 ...
3. Browns ... 121 ... 49 ...
4. Ravens ... 91 ... 48 ...
5. Bills ... 108 ... 48 ...

It still leaves a bad feeling that once again, Miami is the team paying the most to bring in that position. However, that feeling is much better than missing out on the guy entirely, especially when you have the cap the 'Fins do. Welcome to Miami Big Ugly.

I'm a little concerned that Albert missed a month of play last year and 3 games the year before. Last year Ireland wanted to give Albert a physical and the Chiefs wanted a trade without the physical. What was up with that?

Don't get me wrong ... I am glad to have him, but are we expecting him to play a full season even though he hasn't done that in a few years?

That's what is hard to understand for me, why not sign Monroe who doesn't technically have those issues, and is several years younger if you want to shell out $10m?

The Ravens are 4th on that Sad Sacks list. Also, the Chiefs were No. 10 in rushing and the Ravens 30th. Of course, there's more to this than LT play, but LT was our biggest need...........so I'm happy with picking up Albert.
