The Texans have released two-time Pro Bowl tight end Owen Daniels, according to John McClain of the Houston Chronicle. Daniels broke his leg last year and was scheduled to count $6.25 million in cap space in 2014. This news will save Houston $4.5 million.http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap2000000332845/article/report-houston-texans-release-owen-daniels
As of Monday, Daniels had no idea if he would be released. He expressed being open to restructuring his contract, but the Texans clearly wanted to go in a new direction.
Not getting any younger but has had several good years. Would be a nice, veteran security blanket for Ryan Tannehill and probably won't cost a ton coming off injury.
