The Texans have released two-time Pro Bowl tight end Owen Daniels, according to John McClain of the Houston Chronicle. Daniels broke his leg last year and was scheduled to count $6.25 million in cap space in 2014. This news will save Houston $4.5 million.
As of Monday, Daniels had no idea if he would be released. He expressed being open to restructuring his contract, but the Texans clearly wanted to go in a new direction.
