How have they made several moves to plug holes and add depth?
The only improvement (arguably) has been swapping McKinnie for Albert. They haven't been plugging holes, they've been swapping their own Free Agents for comparable outside ones.
That said, there is still a long way to go in FA.
They had 1 starting O-lineman under contract. That leaves 4 holes. They've plugged 2 of them. They had 0 starting CB's (prior to resigining Grimes). They now have Grimes and added a vet to push the youngsters and add depth at least.
They had 1 starting DT. That left 2 holes (consdering they rotate as much as they do, they have 3 starters for practical purposes.) They filled both of them.
They had a hole at S. They filled it.
I get your point, but when a player is no longer under contract, that's a hole you have to fill, and they've been doing that. I would add that losing Martin and Jerry constitutes addition by subtraction. Incognito will be missed on the field. I hope we can draft someone to make us forget about him soon. I like their approach so far.
In years past, we had glaring needs (WR, OL) and ignored them throughout FA and the draft. At least that doesn't seem to be happening.
