Here is a question Rich. While I'm certainly not denying your statistics, why is it then that every single media outlet reporting on this signing is calling Moreno an upgrade over Miller, most specifically his pass protection skills?
It's just odd to me that nobody is talking about how Miller grades out as a better pass protector when the stats you've given are online for anyone to see? PFF isn't exactly a mystery and I'm sure the folks writing the material for NFL Network, ESPN, etc have access to this same info.
Premium stats are not online for everyone to see. You need to have an account.
Also, people tend to opine on first impressions etc. Miller had a rough start as a pass blocker so now that is the stigma. He got better as the season went on. Moreno won the starting job because Ball allowed Manning to get drilled during a preseason game. So his reputation is that he's a good pass blocker.
Also, the statistical difference between Moreno and Miller is negligible. Moreno is a good all around back, a significant upgrade over Daniel Thomas and Miller should get better as a runner and blocker at least.
Our backfield will be better this season and that's the bottom line.
