Here were Polian’s comments on ESPN.com’s free-agent tracker:

“Solid contributor, but not a No. 1 back. I think most of his success from 2013 was a function of the system. His acceleration to the hole is the reason for the speed minus. The rest of his game is good, he just doesn't hit the big plays you need from a No. 1 RB.”

I don't disagree with Polian, but a one year contract isn't exactly saying he's our guy. Moreno should bring an advantage in short yard, blocking and redzone, but Lamar can take it to the house.

Moreno was a good pickup, maybe the change will do him good.

Was there a true #1 back available in free agency?

I guess MJD was a #1 back, but, of course he is not looking like the old MJD.

What separated Moreno from the other backs is that he can pass block. He looks to be an upgrade over any of our backs. He's had trouble with durability earlier in his career, so, people forget that he was the overall #12 pick in the 2009 NFL Draft. I don't think he has that same burst that he had at Georgia, but he should be a good back for us. He was never really fast.

Moreno ran a 4.55 at the combine, Miller ran a 4.44. And if anyone cares...Danny Thomas ran a 4.66 at the combine...

I wasn't overly impressed until I watched some videos of him. Even prior to Manning he had some success, albeit limited. Just looked like he ran hard and broke tackles. Definitely not going to burn by defenders, but hopefully creates more favorable 2nd and 3rd down situations with his running ability.

It still would not shock me to see Miami draft a running back early.

Should have kept Reggie Bush.

Moreno will be given every opportunity to win the job as the number one back. My hope is that it also pushes Lamar Miller to a new level too.

When he finishes with 1100 plus yards and double digit touch downs he will clearly be our #1 back even if it is just for one year.

I think when NFL Films is doing the replays of our success story of the 2014 season we will be remembered as "The Team of Twos"

Not so sure I'd count out Danny Thomas yet. At the tail end of last year, he was looking better than Miller.

His inconsistency is what has killed him so far, so I'd def be wary of him starting ... but I think he'll get more playing time than we think - if he's still around.
