The word on TE Dion Sims was that he would be a good-blocking TE. That was not the case at all. To put it simply, Charles Clay did a more effective job of blocking in both run and pass than Sims did (according to PFF). Sims needs to really take the next step forward this year as he made us really miss Fasano.
Clay did a lot of things well, guy really stepped up. I feel his skillset is the versatility tho, give defenses some confusion with a guy lined up behind the QB that can be such a threat in the passing game, motion him out etc.
Would do wonders to get a true seam threat TE to accompany him.
I wouldnt grade a draft after one season based on potential, which is all we really have, so I am with Mak on this:
Total bust draft so far.
Its harsh, but when your 2nd and 3rd round picks combine for 42 snaps, and the guy you traded up to get at # 3 struggled to get on the field, nobody should feel good about it...
