30 more days in treatment should make it all better and he will be ready for OTA's...

:bravo:

Come on guys, give Smith a break. I'm sure he has a mental disorder.

Well, it sounds like he had too much to drink in this situation:

TMZ wrote:
Multiple law enforcement sources tell TMZ Sports ... Aldon appeared to be drunk at the time of the incident.

Smith has a long history with the law -- the 24-year-old defensive end was arrested in 2012 for DUI and in 2013, he was charged with 3 counts of illegal possession of an assault weapon stemming from a violent incident at his home in San Joe, Ca where Smith was stabbed.

He obviously has a lot of problems going on in his life. It is a shame he is making these choices.

Reminds me of the issues Alonzo Spellman had and in a similar way, he would do strange things in public.

Hopefully, Smith can seek more help and make better decisions for himself.

No doubt. Making millions and playing a sport for a living would be very stressful. Add in signing autographs, having 4 months off, working out all the time, and making wishes for dying children is tough.....

Wasn't Spellman actually bi=polar though?

Smith just has a drinking problem.

Did he go to rehab for this? Yes, he does have a drinking problem.

That's a good way to get hosed ... one way or the other. LOL!

BTW, it looks like the 49ers are tired of the fallout of his idiocy.

Quote:
After speaking with "several sources involved with the (team's) decision-making," San Jose Mercury News columnist Tim Kawakami believes embattled OLB Aldon Smith "probably won’t play for the 49ers in 2014." According to Kawakami, there is a "weariness and frustration over Smith’s behavior that I’ve never heard involving any recent 49ers player." Smith has yet to officially be charged with a crime after allegedly making a false bomb threat at LAX, but that should soon change. Kawakami reports the 49ers do plan to let the legal process play out before making a decision on Smith's future. His next hearing is scheduled for April 29.

Yeah, Spellman was bi-polar and Smith does have a drinking problem. I wasn't doing a straight up comparison, I was simply mentioning similar because Spellman got in the press for strange things and Smith getting arrested making a scene at the airport was why I mentioned it the way I did.

Mak, I wish ALL athletes would really appreciate what they have in life. Idiots like Terrell Owens and Chad Johnson, talented but high maintenance guys that could have extended their careers, but they had to be prima donna's. In fact, Owens definitely with his freakish build at wide receiver, no doubt could have kept playing if he wasn't so selfish.

Here is Aldon Smith playing the world's greatest game and torpedoing his career.

Not really bro, he sucks. He had playing time for the Seahawks two years ago against preseason's 3rd stringers and absolutely bombed. He was atrocious.

9 1k + seasons with double digit TD's on three different NFL teams = sucks?

Wish we had some sucky players :haha

I'm obviously talking about right now. In which, factually, he is garbage. Trash. He sucks.

AFCEast: The point I was trying to make was that HAD Terrell Owens not been an aloof selfish idiot, his abilities could have kept him in the NFL longer and leading up to that short stint with Seattle it is because he was out for a bit because no one wanted to take a chance on him. He was in his late 30's STILL running nearly a 4.3 and I am sorry, but I stand behind the point I was trying to make and had he had a Jerry Rice like attitude and work ethic with his physical ability he could have been a HOF receiver and actually STILL has HOF numbers.

With nearly 16,000 receiving yards and 153 touchdown catches, I hardly would say the guy sucked and if your basing that comment at the very end of his career, MOST aging folks drop off.
