Beginning to think they've accepted Tanny is primarily going to be a short/intermediate guy.

Then we need a SF, seattle type defense or we will NEVER win the SB. We need to hit long balls, or forget it.

Who cares? It means so little. Jerry Rice ran a 4.6!

If you got brains, learn your routes, and understand how to get open in the offense then you can find success (assuming RT can do an acceptable Montana impression)

From the games I watched, this kid looks like he plays hard and has sticky hands

40 times are overrated.

Route running and hands are the most important attribute for a wide receiver.

Landry has both.

Heck, I think Hartline has proven you don't need elite speed and size to be successful in the NFL. That said, will Hartline or Landry put fear into our opponents on defense? I still see Clay and Gibson as our best weapons.

Jerry Rice? Really you want to compare Landry to Rice? Jerry Rice was also 6'2" Also there is football speed & track speed. I understand that. Just a 4.77 for a 5'11" Wr is generally not a good thing.

Gadsen also played hard & had sticky hands, but was never the player because he was so slow.

Hartline doesn't score TD's enough to scare anyone.

Bringing up Gadsen makes about as much sense as bringing up Rice. Gadsen had arthritic toes by the time he got to the Dolphins.

Gadsden had nearly 3 inches on this kid. In the NFL, I just don't see a 5'11 kid like this with an average vertical to be able to consistently beat DB's over the top.

Oooo-k. You missed the point but thats alright.

Try to enjoy the draft buddy. You got like 4 months before you need to be truly bitter about Dolphins players

If only ever route was run in a straight line....

But when you have the toes of a 70 year old man, cutting becomes a lot tougher.

I'd be fine with that, but let's think about this from a strategic standpoint in the redzone where we struggled big time as the season progressed.

Who are they going to go to when they're choking the short routes out?

OG was great when he played, but he and McDuffie played in severe pain and their toes were busted up, bad. Landry will run good routes. I know you are jaded Scot with this team, but this is a good pick.

No I did not. You tried to compare a rookie WR to the greatest WR and not to forget the hardest working Wr of all time. Funny you left out all the misses who ran that slow.

Didn't we have a good redzone scoring % ?

I've not said a bad thing about the pick. I just ask. Is this guy really that slow. I ask a simple question & these yahoos start attacking like I knocked the pick. I was just seeking some info.

OG toes were not in that bad of shape when he arrived in Miami. They got bad at the end of his career.

We were ranked 11th in scoring TDs when in the red zone.

Hartline? Landry actually runs a 4.4 and Wallace will constantly be deep and bring an extra safety over the top so they'll be fine. Also Gibson had 5 td catches in a 3 game span before his injury while the Steelers, Packers, Patriots, Ravens, and Seahawks dont have monster wrs but they get it done. Size doesnt always matter just get them open in the red zone

They were bad most of the time he was in Miami. He played football non-stop for two years before coming to the Dolphins, which caused the deterioration of his toes. It didn't happen from one day to the next.

Wallace is limited as a deep threat if Tannehill's deep passing woes continue.

Gibson is coming off major knee surgery and he had 3 TD's that came against Buffalo and NE in consecutive weeks (6-7), but that was it.

The Seahawks could run playaction efficiently to freeze DB's. We can't yet.

That didnt stop defenses from keeping safeties over the top constantly and the times they didnt the Dolphins still went deep and teams wont gamble to chance all the time because if they get beat its a td every time. Gotta think

Mak, I like what Hickey has done so far. He has added pieces to the offensive line, the biggest issue for Miami, and added a very good, tough wide receiver.

Nope. I just wanted to know if Landry truly was a 4.7 Wr. If he is a 4.5 guy and just had a bad run at the combine, then that was all I wanted to know. His resume looks great.

That wasnt the point, Gibson is just 6'0 and my bad I was wrong about the numbers but was really getting it going and everytime in the red zone was making the plays before he got hurt. Hines Ward got tds for days and many other wrs without size just because they made plays and other teams get many tds without big wrs. Just got to see how he responds
