They continue to sign talent on the OL via undrafted FA. Some nice skill position personnel as well.

This draft (and offseason for that matter) definitely focused on putting Tannehill in a position to succeed.

Not if they go out on the field and bomb, regardless of their draft selection.

As bad as things were, and to finish at least .500, and then to make the moves we have made brings a lot of excitement. I just hope we don't blow it. Rock will have a field day.

The same one you're having now before we've even played a down? LOL

What makes it that? Excitement? If that's the case what do you consider your coverage?

Unless Hartline and Gibson don't return to form, Landry struggles to produce, Hazel winds up on the practice squad, James struggles as a rookie starter, and Turner doesn't win the starting right guard job. Does he have an excuse if that happens? It very likely could.

Some of you are so technical with your comments. Of course I'm assuming they make the roster and contribute.

Unfortunately in year 3 there are really no excuses for a QB even if those receivers prove not to be healthy. Another non playoff season & you would think the QB position might be addressed somehow even by bringing in some sort of subtle competition.
All that being said though the other teams in the league should take notice by the steps of this rookie GM. Big things this season. We should be suiting up for a game on 2/1/15.

I think I've said this every year since 2007 but I really hope Miami employs more play action rollouts in goal line situations. Never understood why they didn't use it more.

Jarvis Landry made the list of rookie year sleepers for Bucky Brooks and Sam Wyche on a segment they were having on draft picks. I think it was 5 players they picked that they loved and liked where they landed. Brooks said alot of scouts he talked to liked Landry better than Odell Beckham. He sees him playing a similar style to Anquan Boldin as well, and thinks he will contribute sooner rather than later.

I like what the team has done for Tannehill this offseason. They added an offensive coordinator that could take the offense and Tannehill's game to the next level. They beefed up the o-line and receiver corps. They even brought in another tightend. Hopefully this all translates to better protection, better production, and better results from the offense this year.

Here were Tannehill's numbers from 2013:
3,913 Yards
24 Touchdowns
17 Interceptions
60.4% Completion

I think these are some very realistic expectations for Tannehill in year three:
4,000+ Yards
28 Touchdowns
14 Interceptions
61.0+% Completion

I like being excited just as much as the next guy, but also will look at everything and take a wait and see approach.

That was not the choice of the coaching staff, that was a decision made by Ross and Phibin nearly resigned over it. He had to fire Sherman.
That is the reason I remain skeptical, as we all have seen some coaching staff's can do more with less. We may be stuck with a staff that does less with more, that remains to be seen. I just have a bad taste in my mouth after the final 2 games. Just looked like a team that had no fight in them...

Those are realistic expectations for sure. I am hoping to see more movement behind center, RT can make some nice throws on the run, and can also tuck it and take off for a first when needed.
I definately liked seeing the offense getting filled up this draft. One of the reasons I couldnt stand last years draft was we were weak on offense and stingy on defense to end the season, then went in and used the first 3 picks on 2 defensive players..

If Philbin knows what I know, he will get over Mike Sherman getting CANNED. Ross has not done a lot of things I care for, but this was a MOVE that had to be made. A lot of people wanted Philbin out to, myself included at the end after the collapse.

Bill Lazor is a BIG upgrade over Sherman and can do a lot for the development of Tannehill. Of course, the biggest plus for Ryan will be the development of the now young OL. If they develop, Ryan will improve.

To me, it that simple.

If Lazor is capable of transforming Tannehill's game the way he did with Foles, then we should see franchise quarterback numbers this season form Tannehill. If Tannehill finally shows he's our franchise quarterback, then this team will likely finish over .500 and get in the playoffs.

Yup, seems we are all on the same page lol

I surely like the direction things are going, and the way they are focusing on beefing up the line and loading up on targets for RT.

"If" we are to be succesful these are the things I felt needed to happen first.

No excuses for sure, as another commenter said, this is year 3 for Tanne and regardless of how this draft turns out he has to show something more or we move on to the next "future of the Miami Dolphins".

With the Dolphins you never have a shortage of "ifs".
