I don't know how to put a value on giving away 46 points in trade value. You have to factor in giving a discount for finding a trade partner willing to do the deal and how much it helps you fill your needs. I am personally fine with the trades because it addressed a glaring need at o-line. It averages out that Miami should have an additional lower 4th round pick when it was all done. But that is in a perfect world.
Plus its a lot more fun ripping the GM in 2 to 3 years when you can point out what great players they didn't draft that were taken later than the ones Miami drafted.
--The Dolphins sent pick No. 50 (400 Pts) to San Diego in exchange for picks 57 (330 pts) and 125 (47 pts) of this year’s draft; Miami lost 23 points in value which is a low 5th round pick
--The Dolphins sent pick No. 57 (330 pts) to San Francisco in exchange for picks 63 (276 pts) and 171 (23 pts) of this year’s draft; Miami lost 31 points in vlaue which is an upper 5th round pick
--The Dolphins sent pick Nos. 81 (185 pts) and 116 (62 pts) to Oakland in exchange for the 67th pick (255 pts) of this year’s draft. ... Miami gained 8 points in value which is a low 6th round pick.
