With their 1st 5th round pick, the Dolphins take Georgia TE Arthur Lynch. Lynch has good size at 6'5, 258 lbs and decent speed at 4.75 in the 40. Very good inline blocker and is physical in the run game and can substain and redirect his man. Nice job of seal blocking and getting to the next level to take on linebackers and secondary personnel. Precise route runner with good footwork and is good after the catch and is a load to bring down. Tough, physical runner with very relable hands. Motivated and dedicated to the game. He does not have that burst to be a seam threat and takes a while to build up speed. Has some technique issues to work on as a blocker. Overall solid football player.

WEAKNESSES: Lacks sudden quickness to easily beat press coverage or explode out of his breaks. Slow starter and takes a few moments to gear down and get back up to full speed – won’t easily create separation.

Would like to see him consistently do more after initial contact as a ballcarrier. Will fight the ball and have his share of focus drops. Strong effort blocker, but does have some technique flaws that need addressed – needs to improve his awareness to eliminate missed assignments.

Career production is below average, especially in a pro-style offense with a quarterback (Aaron Murray) who set several SEC passing records.

I think Sims is the one who should be sweating after this pick. I am still not sure why Egnew is on the team.

He has good size, but this is a bit of a head-scratcher for me. I think the last 5th round TE we drafted was Randy McMichael.

(Correction: he was a 4th round pick out of Georgia).

Definitely has me skeptical.

I suspect he is intended to be primarily a blocker....

Looks like a blocking guy to me too - a bit similar to Witten it seems.

Miami seems to be gearing up to improve that running game. Can't complain about that.

This is my favorite pick of this draft, we need a guy like this, lets hope this guy and or Sims steps up this year.

Thank you. Miami needed a blocking TE and this kid fits the bill. He's a Fasano type.

We've all said we need guys who can run block in goal line situations so that its not always an obvious pass play.

I like this pick a lot.
