:yay:

I would have made the reboot this year.

Armando Salguero wrote:
Owner Stephen Ross has been loyal to his coach in siding with Philbin versus former general manager Jeff Ireland after their rift last season. The owner told candidates during his search for a new GM that they had to accept Philbin and even turned away from candidates he liked because they wanted the ability to move on from Philbin.

And Ross made sure new GM Dennis Hickey understood he must work hand-in-hand with Philbin, who now seems to be more empowered than ever, in order to be considered a success with the Dolphins.

But here's the catch: Ross, despite his unfettered public confidence in Philbin and optimism about the coming season, also has confided to multiple people that if 2014 does not unfold quite the way he hopes, it may be time for a reset.

And a reset would involve getting a new head coach.

It remains unclear exactly what parameters Ross would have for needing or resisting change.

GO/GO GO should have been enough of a reason.

I agree with the idea that Ross keeping Philbin is as much about sending a message to other candidates as it is a vote of confidence in Philbin. Not sure Miami wants to have a Jimmy Haslam type of reputation of bailing on a coach too quickly as that would make it a less desirable place to coach.

Question on Philbin is what overwhelming quality does he bring to the table? Offensive or defensive guru? QB developer? Running game expert? True motivator? I honestly don't have a clue what makes him HC worthy? I want to believe in him and want him to succeed, but I'm not sure there is evidence he will unless Tannehill bails him out this year.

Part of me wants us to start 0-5 just so this guy gets the ax and then Lazor could get to interim coach the last 11 games.

The offense had better be clicking if Lazor is to get the head coaching job at 0-5.

According to Barry Jackson's latest blog Bill Lazor has been given complete control of the offense.

An 0-5 start would reflect poorly on Lazor's part as well...wouldn't necessarily be a glowing endorsement for the guy either.

Dave, why do you always spell Philbin with an "e"...? Just curious because you do it 100% of the time lol.

Makes sense being most reports I read say Joe never did it as OC. McCarthy ran the offense.
