Tannehill's peers
...

They have all outperformed him in just about every area that matters in the NFL, whether it be statistical comparisons, or team accomplishments. Most are trending upwards.

Nobody is saying Tannehill won't be better than some of his peers because he could absolutely have a Foles-like come-up in 2014. But right now he's trailing that group, which brings the total of quarterbacks Tannehill is presently behind to 21. ...

His 81.7 passer rating had him ranked as the 24th best quarterback last season, ...

Tannehill's fourth-quarter passer rating (64.3) ranked him 35th in the NFL last season, and his play in football's most important period was behind a few backups ... But in fairness to Tannehill, he did lead the Dolphins to fourth-quarter victories over the Colts, Falcons, Chargers, Steelers and Patriots last season....

On third down throws Tannehill has a 74.6 passer rating (24th best in NFL). He completed 59.1 percent of his passes on third downs, and threw nine touchdowns and eight interceptions on that critical down. Only two quarterbacks ... threw more interceptions on third downs last season....

The point....Tannehill needs to become a 85 rated quarterback in 2014 of the Dolphins need to move on because he'll have proven he's not good enough to make the franchise relevant because quarterback No. 21-24 just won't cut it.

In the shotgun about 75% of the time. :fart:  Seriously, the only stat I'm interested in for 2014 is W's.

Even the QB hating Omar believes Tannehill will make good strides this year. I think he cracks the top 15 this year.

Manning, rodgers, brees, brady, wilson, luck, kaepernick, and romo are for sure ahead but after that you could make an argument for anyone from shaub to tannehill to cutler

I think the 4th quarter QB rating is misleading. The Dolphins were playing from behind in the majority of their games this season. In addition, the team had typically given up on the run game somewhere around halftime. So you have a situation where Tannehill is forced to throw and teams know it. Not to mention the whole "go-go" fiasco that was our offensive line. Long story short, 4th quarters were a recipe for disaster last season.

Did Tannehill play poorly in some 4th quarters last year, sure. But for every game where he played poorly, there was another instance where he basically put the team on his back and brought them from behind.

Ryan is still a younger player who needs to develop better consistency. Hopefully he worked on what he struggled with last year and that hard work pays off with improved play and consistency.

All true. The defenses knew what Sherman schemed by the 2nd qtr, RT had an impossible hill to climb most 4th's
