The Miami Dolphins will have their full squad available on the practice field Tuesday for organized team activities. This is the first veteran session that is open to the media.

ESPN.com’s Miami Dolphins page will be live in Davie, Florida, to examine all the action.

Here are three things to watch:

1. Dolphins’ new offense

Analysis: I first got a peek at Miami’s new offense last week during rookie minicamp. First-year offensive coordinator Bill Lazor showed a lot of new formations and concepts that can challenge a defense. However, last weekend’s rookie camp probably only showed a small portion of the playbook. Expect Lazor to open up the offense this week with veteran players back on the practice field. The Dolphins are expected to be more up-tempo and dynamic than last year’s offense under former offensive coordinator Mike Sherman. This is an important time for Miami to develop an offensive identity and make a smooth transition.

2. Quarterback Ryan Tannehill

Analysis: Continuing the theme on offense, perhaps no player is more important this year than Tannehill. Miami’s third-year quarterback is a mediocre 15-17 in his career and is entering an important Year 3 with the Dolphins. This offseason is imperative for Tannehill. He is learning a new offense for the first time in his NFL career now that Sherman, his college coach, is gone. Tannehill also appears to have bulked up in the offseason after getting sacked a franchise-record 58 times. Tannehill must avoid a slow start and quickly master this new offense.

3. Defensive end Dion Jordan

Analysis: Like Tannehill, the Dolphins need another former first-round pick to develop into a franchise building block. Jordan, the No. 3 overall pick in 2013, had somewhat of a redshirt season last year. He was the team’s third or fourth defensive end on the depth chart and played on special teams. Jordan must get stronger, particularly against the run, in order to become a complete player. The Dolphins had trouble getting him on the field consistently with the exception of obvious passing downs. I’m curious to see how much work Jordan has done this offseason in order to make an important jump in Year 2.

Some rumors from OTA's.

-Misi is playing middle linebacker

-Cortland Finnegan has been put in charge of mentoring Jamar Taylor

-GREAT SIGN, Mike Wallace was the last player to finish practicing. Stayed late on the jugs machine

I just got a little fired up reading through Omar's tweet coverage of practice - https://twitter.com/OmarKelly

He said Cortland picked off Tanny in 11 on 11's & almost had another one

Dion Jordan is up to 265lbs & they say his arms and shoulders are pumped

& Wallace was staying after practice to work on his catching. Good sign

I'm glad we signed Finnegan, even though he's not a spring chicken anymore.

Cortland Finnegan describes his mentoring of younger players: "I want to leave this place better than I found it"

Quote:
Brian Hartline (knee) is participating in Dolphins OTAs.
Hartline tore his PCL last Week 17, but avoided surgery and appears to already be full-go. He will remain a low-ceiling WR4/5 option in re-draft leagues.

The Dolphins are using Shelley Smith at right guard.
Smith's strength is run blocking, so it makes sense to use him on the strong side next to rookie RT Ja'Wuan James. From left to right, Miami's projected first-team line is LT Branden Albert, LG Billy Turner, C Mike Pouncey, RG Smith, and RT James. Turner is trying to hold off Nate Garner and Dallas Thomas for snaps.

Dolphins second-year DE Dion Jordan is up to 265 pounds.
Jordan weighed in at 248 at the Combine two Februaries ago. Dolphins beat writers observed that it looks like Jordan took an "air pump" to his arms and shoulders over the winter. At this time last year, Jordan was rehabbing a shoulder injury which didn't allow him to work out. He's 100 percent healthy now and has been at the Dolphins facility for over a month. The Dolphins are expecting a big sophomore leap from last year's No. 3 overall pick.

Quote:
Knowshon Moreno opened Dolphins OTAs as the first-team running back.
He's ahead of Lamar Miller, Daniel Thomas, and Mike Gillislee. Miller remains the most talented pure runner on Miami's roster, but Moreno is a more reliable player with superior passing-game chops. It's entirely possible the Fins will again utilize a committee approach, with Moreno and Miller trading off series. They did so last year with Miller and Thomas, albeit with very little success. New playcaller Bill Lazor hails from Philadelphia, a run-heavy team. So we expect the Dolphins' team rushing attempts to take a significant 2014 leap.

Dallas Thomas was running as the first-team left guard when the Dolphins opened OTAs on Tuesday.
Thomas, last year's 77th overall pick, seems to have been a bit of a forgotten man in Miami this offseason. He underwent shoulder surgery last spring and played just two snaps as a rookie. Thomas will compete with rookie Billy Turner, veteran Nate Garner, and second-year UDFA Sam Brenner for the starting job.

Quote:
Brandon Gibson (knee) is on the field and participating in Tuesday's OTAs, albeit in a limited manner.
Gibson tore his patellar tendon in October, so he's made great strides and appears to be well ahead of schedule in his recovery. It's an important summer for Gibson after the team drafted Jarvis Landry, who projects as an immediate slot receiver. 26-year-old Gibson has a real shot at being 100 percent for camp.

Wonder if Wallace saw the success Desean Jackson had last year & hopes to put up similar numbers in this offense.

And Omar said RT rolled out a couple times already. Another good sign

Is Shelly Smith that good? Or is he the starting line up because he has no competition?

I think they'll be less nauseating to watch than they were last year. No more Go-Go. Hopefully they fix the 3rd down defense.

With the same DC who couldn't stop a well intentioned girl scout troop ... who arguably got less out of his talent than the OC....my hopes remain tempered.

Some things reported from camp.

-Jelani Jenkins getting reps ahead of Ellerbe today.

-Supposedly Dallas Thomas looks really good at guard and Billy Turner needs work.

-Cameron Wake giving Jawuan James a baptism by fire. Bull rushing the heck out of him. Good clinic for the rookie tackle.

- The backup tackles will be Garner and Fox.

- Mike Wallace sounded unstoppable today. 2 early touchdowns

-Arthur Lynch got wide open for a touchdown from Matt Moore and he also impressed Omar with his excellent blocking.

-Hartline's knee looks pretty good.

-Omar thought the coaches had Grimes playing too far off his man today. Got beat a few times.

-Brandon Gibson does't seem ready to practice yet.

-The offensive tempo and formations are supposedly insane. And actually using screen plays. Mostly to Clay.

- Sounds like Lazor knows that Wallace and Clay are his top weapons, both heavily involved.
(Wallace gained 20 yards on a double reverse.)

-Lazor experimenting alot. This is the perfect time of year to do it.

The only designed screen to Clay that I remember from last season is when he shook a tackle right at the LOS, and converted the 4th down and ran 5 yards against the Pats in Miami. I don't remember him being involved in too many others throughout the year...I'd love to see that change.

I recall a couple that were blown up at the line of scrimmage. Nothing that ever succeeded since the OL couldn't move fast enough to block.

Sloth got chewed out! Nice Swerve. Omar Kelly, like him or not is present and watching this all unfold. I am always reading and following his tweets on the Dolphins. Gives you the best up to date info on our beloved fins.

Screens are really tough to run when you can't block...
