He’s not just comfortable. He’s actually having fun.

And Bill Lazor’s new offense has a lot to do with it. Wallace torched the Dolphins’ defense for three touchdown catches during practice Monday, an early sign that Miami’s recast system is more suited to his skill set.

“It just makes coming to work easier,” Wallace said. “It makes it more fun for you when you know you can move around, do different things that in my whole career, I’ve never really done. A fresh opportunity every day.”

Under deposed coordinator Mike Sherman, there were no surprises. Wallace, most every single play, lined up wide on the right side. He rarely motioned. And Wallace's productivity probably suffered because of it.

“Last year, they kind of knew where I was every single play,” Wallace said. “I was there every game, the same spot. When you move around, it’s harder for a defense to know where you’re at.”

Lazor, meanwhile, wants to put Wallace in matchups that give him the best chance to get open. He even broke loose on a double-reverse Monday.

While Dolphins coach Joe Philbin chose not to re-litigate last year's failings, he did concede that are there are benefits to versatility in alignment.

It's going to be funny when/if he opens the first half of the season with just a TD or two to show for all this. Don't mind the pessimism...not usually like that, just a thought...

He's my top fantasy sleeper. People will draft him as the 25th ranked receiver but I think he can finish top 10.

It sounds to me that both of their confidences are at a high right now.

:yay:

This offense should already be scaring our opponents.

Meh... even in his best days in Pittsburgh he was an up and down fantasy player.

I think he had two top 10 finishes there. And they weren't running Chip Kelly's offense. His time in Pittsburgh was very productive and I think he has a chance to post career highs this year. 1300 yards and 11 touchdowns.

Well running the deep route sure wasnt going anywhere, I guess its nice to see the new OC recognizing strengths instead of the old square peg round hole coords we keep finding...

Maybe, maybe not. It is not relevant to my point.

He had a lot of 100 yard, 2 TD games followed by games with 25 yards and 0 TDs.

Ya I here you on the bunch totals, but the end result is what I'm talking about. Never thought Desean Jackson and Rylie (Career backup) Cooper would do what they did last year. That scheme got those guys wide open a ton. We could see Wallace, Hartline and Clay put up numbers we never thought imaginable.

I thought being up and down in a season was not that uncommon or are you saying he was up and down more than most in a season?

Outside of Calvin, B-Marsh and and maybe AJ Green all the top receivers rollercoaster with their numbers. Actually Green and Dez Bryant both sank my season in 4 leagues last year. I wish I had Desean Jackson, teams that had him won titles.

The type of receiver Wallace is lends itself to those up and down stats. Those guys are frustrating to own in a fantasy league.

You want the steadier types that will get 5-7 catches and 70-80 yards a game so you can at least get some points.

It is also important to look at the QB throwing to them.

Antonio Brown, Demaryius Thomas, Pierre Garcon, and Jordy Nelson were fairly consistent because they are go to guys. They will at least get you 6-7 points a week.

Wallace is not a go to guy. He can put up 17 points one week and 2 the next.

Well Not to be an butt but in those two games (I know they are an example) but I would take Wallace he had 19 vs 14 points. You hardly ever get the big numbers from the go to guy but players like Wallace will score more in the season.

Exactly sailor, mike will have his 40 yard games. But when he goes off for 130 and 2 scores you win your matchup. Especially if you have yardage bonuses. At the very least i think he,ll be an excellent #2 fantasy receiver for any team in 2014.
