2nd half of Full Metal Jacket has some hilarious lines such as when the hooker tells the guy she won't take him because he is too "beaucoup" and he responds:

"now what we have here is some pure Alabama black snake, but it ain't too darn beaucoup"

I think I spit my beer out laughing when he said that.

Every single R. Lee Ermey line in that movie is Oscar worthy. The fact that he wasn't nominated is a sin.

One of the Game of Thrones episodes this season paid tribute to that movie in a subtle way.

Nope, its about a bunch of wannabe franchises making feeble attempts to overtake the true NFL royalty that is the 1972 Miami Dolphins. The champagne is still flowing!

That was a long time ago.

It can't be that long ago. I remember it vividly.

You can buy the season box sets or get HBO, then you get the HBO GO app and watch it anytime.

And there is always utorrent.

It's a pretty awesome show.

It's Lord of the Rings for adults.

The thing is, I'm not getting drawn into HBO again, it always happens like this, I join for some great series they produce like Band of Brothers or Rome, and then I don't watch it anymore, back to watching Netflix, it's just not worth it imo, so I just wait for the DVDs to drop in price a bit, and or the "special" edition, if I want to buy it.

In your opinion, how does it compare to Rome, Spartacus or The Tudors, if you've seen any of these.

I've seen some of Spartacus and The Tudors.

It blows them away.

True Bloood is pretty good again . the premier of the leftovers was also interesting.

Not sure what to think about the Leftovers. There was a lot going on, and nothing at the same time.

A lot of things happened and we learned very little. I'll give it another episode or two to get it together.

Hickey screwed up the o-line back in March during free agency. I said it then. Albert wasn't enough. James might be a good RT but as a rookie he will struggle some as all rookies do. Growing pains there as expected.  With no Pouncey the o-line could be as bad as last years now, maybe worse. This is what happens when you get your 7th choice for GM and a guy nobody else even interviewed. Thank god Hickey only has a 2 year deal, easy to let him go.
