After what I saw from Phillip Wheeler last night, I just don't see how he makes the team. If it weren't for the cap hit he'd be gone all ready. Trade him to the Raiders if we can as he played well in their scheme, and take the cap hit.

Philip Wheeler, as usual, whiffed on a couple of tackles, and committed a third-down penalty that would have given the Cowboys a first down if Dallas hadn’t already converted it. But he did have a tackle for loss. Weeeee! But Dannell Ellerbe played well, which was encouraging.

Its obviously not just a scheme issue with this guy. Coyle can't make tackles for him. & the constant bonehead penalties . . . UGH!

I think we are just as well off starting Tripp in the middle & bumping Misi in Wheeler's spot. At least theres upside to having Tripp out there

Ellerbe did look very active.

Wheeler looked lost. I saw replace Wheeler with Tripp and let it ride.

On Olivier Vernon's sack, #Dolphins LB Philip Wheeler put on an impressive blitz to cause pressure. Vernon cleaned up Tony Romo afterwards.

LB Philip Wheeler struggles in several areas, but his blitzes have been solid. MIA is allowing him to do it more this year.

maybe he might have a little value.

He has looked on blitzing. I can't take that away from him. If that is all he can do then I'd rather see Dion Jordan in his place on blitzing assignments.

I say give Jordan Tripp the job and let his heart, motivation and technique rub off on the other guys.

Let Wheeler come in on obvious passing/blitz downs.

I was about to mention the blitzes. The other night was his best game but when you see Tripp fly to the flat and make an open field tackle on a RB.... you know Wheeler would've taken a poor angle and missed.

I agree. Hes pretty much a 3rd down specialist at this point. However, he also continues to get flagged for those late hits that keep the drive alive

From everything I heard during his draft process, he sounded like he would become a long time starter in this league.

Heck, I'm ready to get rid of Wheeler and throw him in there, he's going to get it this league it seems to me.

McCain has definitely thrown his name in the mix, too.
