Okay, let's try to focus on some potential positives for this weekend.

There is no home field advantage for either team.

Derek Carr can be inconsistent and rattled with pressure.

Oakland's defense has a hard time handling the ground game and hopefully Miami can exploit it.

Oakland is fielding some pretty bad LBs aka hopefully Tannehill can work the seams.

Misi should be back and Trusnik can go back to STs full time - two very needed improvements.

The game plan should be simple - get pressure on Carr and hope for quick 3 and outs and a turnover or two. Do not allow MJD or McFadden to burn the LBs. Oakland has not put up a lot of points this year.

On offense they need to run the ball 30+ times. Pound it and give Tannehill the short throws. Set him up in the red zone and have some play action roll outs to the end zone. Seriously, that is his best play to get TD passes.

Miami should easily win this game but with all of the drama this week it has the feel of a wheels falling off game. I honestly don't know. Can only point out the potential positives.

Prediction.

Lamar Miller - 6 carries for 75 yards.

Daniem Thomas - 4 carries for 30 yards.

That's it for the running game. Onto the passing game.

Tannehill - 31 of 60 for 232 yards, 1 TD, 1 fumble, sacked 7 times

Dolphins wide receivers - 6 drops, 2 that would have been touchdowns.

Dolphins win 13-10 and Tannehill is benched.

Lazor: Mission Accomplished.

I think we're setting ourselves up to lose again because Philbin doesnt know what he's doing. I mean the Raiders beat us there by days. They're gonna be ready. we aren't.
Loss to the Raiders should get Phildo fired during the bye week.

Doubt it. A loss puts Tannehill on the bench and Philbin keeps his job til week 8 or so. Ross has shown so much loyalty to Philbin I doubt he cuts ties until Miami is officially out of the playoffs.

What if Tannehill goes 24 of 28 for 320 yards and 4 TDs but the defense gives up 40 points? Does Coyle get the axe?

That press conference 10 minutes ago just changed everything. I think what Tannehill said plus the reporting of player reactions to Philbin are making my comment null and void.

But to your point, I can't see Tannehill having that type of performance and Miami losing. The Raiders offense hasn't shown it can score 20 points let alone 30 points.

If Tannehill has that type of game all of this talk quiets down for the short term.

More of a reason for Coyle to get fired.

KC hadn't scored more than 20 points all season....

I honestly feel that my chances of being mauled by a southern black bear, and polar bear all before dinner tonight has a greater chance of happening.

I don't blame Philbin for losing some faith in Tannehill. His play has given him reason. But his handling of this is comical.

I actually think I would enjoy a Dolphin victory with Philbin being handed his walking papers on Monday. That would fit quite well with the narrative of this team since Ross took ownership.

...Phins step off the plane in London eight hours before game start.

Miami is unable to contain the Raiders running backs and falls behind early when play-action passes lead to some early confidence-building scores for QB Carr. Miami's pass rush is effectively removed from the game as the Raiders play ball control the rest of the way.

Miami panics when down early and reverts to the pass happy style that produces one TD sometime in the 3rd quarter. Perhaps a fist pump or two edge the score closer, but in the end 13 points is just not enough offensive production to consistently win in the NFL.

After their bye week, the Raiders are forced to face a team with skill on offense, the Chargers, and they get crushed. Phillip Rivers goes off for 3 TD's and 350+ yards.

Man it's going to be an absolute circus of panic if we drop this game vs. the Raiders.

I will have my spare popcorn ready to go just in case.

I think the panic has already settled in. If they lose its just going to stir up more talk of who we look at for HC and QB next year. Actually, I think even those conversations have already begun.

I think we lose, and maybe Philbin is fired shortly after.

Honestly to win this game we just need to run, run, run all game. Let Tannehill just manage the game. Maybe 25 pass attempts. Everybody gashes the raiders for big rushing yardage. But I'm sure we'll manage to F it all up and let the Raiders win this one.

I was watching that too. Killer, man. Carr looks nice thought. I especially liked two plays later when he put the ball in his WR's hands & it bounced off his chest & went to Wilfork to seal the game. Well I didn't like that part as much as right after when Carr ripped his helmet off & tore his WR a new one. I love that Fire & hes a rookie yet.

You got to want to Win above all else in this league.

That said I believe our defense is better than the Pats, as long as Coyle acknowledges & patches the vulnerability to the run that was exposed the last two weeks.

23 - 13 Phins Up!
