Ryan Tannehill finished with a 4.8 overall. His best grade of the year.

Samson Satele finished with a 3.2 run blocking grade. Brandon Albert and Dallas Thomas finished with a 1.9 and a 1.4 pass block grade respectively. However, Thomas had a -3.6 run block grade.

The offensive line allowed 7 pressures on 31 drop backs (22%).

Brian Hartline and Rishard Matthews had positive grades in the passing game, 1.3 and 1.1 respectively.

Dolphins receivers still had 3 drops, 2 by Gibson and the one by Sims that led to a pick.

Cameron Wake had a 4.1 overall, 3.7 pass rush. He had 4 QB pressures.

Phillip Wheeler and Jelani Jenkins both had good grades, 3.1 and 3.3. Both graded well against the run and in pass coverage.

Louis Delmas 2.6, Brent Grimes 1.5, Cortland Finnegan 1.5, Jimmy Wilson 1.2 and Jamar Taylor 1.2 all had positive grades.

The defense missed 5 tackles, compared to the 13 missed tackles last week.

What happened to Gibson this year? I understand he's still not 100% recovered, but he's dropping an alarming rate of passes. That one from last week was especially disturbing.

Yes, check by Good Bad and Ugly for a breakdown of the play. It was a catchable pass and he didn't catch it. That's a drop.

Not sure I agree with that assessment, a drop should be when a player doesn't catch a pass that should be caught, that pass could have been caught, but it was not a well thrown pass so I can't put it in the should have been caught category.

It was not a well run route.

A drop is a catchable pass that was not caught.

That was a catchable pass. If the ball is within reach of both hands, it is catchable. NFL receivers make that catch all the time.

Again, stills only show part of the story. That ball was rocketed...not just to the back shoulder but high. If he's going to throw that ball it has to be lower. IMHO, that is mostly on RT. I'll give Sims a pass on it.

Yes, because players who run right into a zone when they are perfectly open if they stop deserve a pass.

If he stops.... his momentum was to the sideline and he showed no indication of slowing. If he was supposed to run a curl instead of an out, I agree. I suppose you could be right that if the pattern were a curl and he ran the wrong route, then it is Sims fault. However, we don't know that. All I saw was a guy going to the sideline and a ball being rocketed behind him. Most QBs intentionally through that low. Just my two cents.

Route runners have to use their brains and read the coverage.

Because the QB is instantly absolved of any responsibility for a poor throw.

I know you love hyperbole more than objectivity...but...

Well, no buts. You just do. Which is why these discussions with you generally turn out to be pointless.

No hyperbole intended. No objective person can look at that throw in real time and say it was a good decision and good throw. So RT bears some responsibility for that. Simply saying it was a drop by Sims is not objective.

Cool, but I'm not just saying it was a drop. I am saying he should have cut off his route in between the zones.

Or maybe it just could have been thrown better, the truth is you nor I know what the route was or should have been, a foot more to the right and I agree it was a drop, but that was a really tough catch for anyone, especially a blocking TE.

McGloin made the same exact throw to Holmes and it was pulled in effortless and turned up field for YAC.

I would have to completely disagree Rich, it was not the same throw.

No matter which "side" your on, it doesn't matter. We don't who's fault it is, it's all speculation. Holmes is a shifty WR while Sims is a big WR, different pass catchers.

That's amazing how you do that without knowing which throw I am talking about. How much do you charge for the lotto numbers?

Andre Holmes is 6'4 210 lbs.

Shifty is not part of his repetoire.

I think Sims kinda sucks as a receiver. Just not fluid, athletic enough to be making big catches downfield.

Is Hoskins ready to takeover yet?

I don't care too much about Sims' drop yesterday because the only thing it impacted was the stat sheet for the QB.

But combine that with his big drop against NE and you get a little worried about his receiving abilities in general. Yes, he made a nice TD grab but I almost wonder if it was more circus than necessary because his route timing was off. Not a good thing.

He seems to be miscast as this downfield playmaker and I think its a waste of a deep ball honestly because its 50/50 that he'll catch it.
