Pouncey practiced without limitations today and said if there were a game today: "I think I can play and play really well.... I felt great, as happy as I've been in a while."

Pouncey played right guard as a sophomore and junior at UF before switching to center as a senior, replacing twin brother Maurkice Pouncey, who graduated.

Put the man in at RG. The coaching staff must be seeing something we aren't, because this idea just seems like such a common sense move to me.

I agree. Solia is playing very well at center, and RG is a real weakness. I'm getting giddy thinking this is perhaps our best OL in years (which isn't saying a whole lot).

Been the right move for awhile. Shouldve drafted a center years ago so he could play guard.

It's already rumored that Pouncey will play guard when he returns and the coaches will keep Satele at center. It gets the Fins their 5 best offensive linemen on the field cause Dallas Thomas and Shelly Smith suck major a$$. Let's see if this rumor is true.

Hush yo mouth, Mak.

:haha

Even though I kept posting that the Dolphins should sign him once Pouncey went on IR (to return), I didn't think he'd play this well. Having Pouncey playing between him and Ja'Wann James should stabilize the right side. I'd rather have Pouncey at center as I believe the center sets the tone and is the leader of the offensive line, with Satele holding his own at center it just would make good sense to line Pouncey up at guard for this season until we can address the RG position in the draft (or free agency).

Is SATELE (ahem, Dave) really playing that well at center?

Pouncey starting at RG might be a very good thing.

Couple of other changes looming - Damian Williams is back and will probably replace Jarvis Landry for return duties. This of course lets Landry focus more on being a WR and now that Gibson is nursing an injury Landry might become the full time #3 guy. That also elevates Rishard Matthews to more snaps in 4 WR sets.

That is great news. Our only consistent weak spot on the line is guard, as we all know. This could help us big time. We are going to need to give Tannehill as much time as possible Sunday. We got our hands full on D already, our O HAS to produce. None of this tipped at the line crap this week.

We have the talent to win this football game.

This move could definitely strengthen the line, my concerns are Pouncey adjusting to RG and then possibly having to adjust back to C if Satele's play falls off, because that can throw a player off his game a little, but getting Pouncey back is good news no matter what.

Yes and having the best 5 lineman is important... Think that is why they are going to experiment with this one, he is a G, and a very good one in college. Based on the transition he made to C, and then to be the caliber of player at this level. I dont see why he could not easily upgrade the G position.

I guess time will tell, but Satele is holding it down right now, and the line is much improved..

Unfortunately, at this point, even though he should comment to the press about where he wants Satele and Pouncey, I think everything that Philben does makes me think he is a weenie. I do like seeing Pouncey at guard as I've gotten used to the thought since Satele is playing well. Maybe we'll see them flip positions to see how Satele does at guard.

Barry Jackson wrote:
### A Dolphins player said Mike Pouncey again lined up as the first-team right guard for much of practice, with Samson Satele at center. That would be the best way to get Miami's five best linemen on the field, but Satele was still limited somewhat by a fibula injury, which makes the decision more complicated. And Joe Phibin said no final decision has been made about whether Pouncey will play guard or center.

I feel that way too.

I wish we knew what was going on but maybe its not something to worry about because with Pouncey back, either way its better.

Its just hard to tell at this point because Philbin hasn't been trustworthy so it appears (the debacle with Tanne before London as a prime example) he is fumbling through the dark, hoping to get lucky

All good news. The rest of the league should be very afraid , starting with Green Bay today.
