Post (ESPN) Sit, Ricky, sit and talk, Ricky, talk
Quote:
Ricky Williams spent part of last week at ESPN headquarters to promote Tuesday night's debut of "Run Ricky Run: Hard to Tackle, Harder to put a Finger On," the latest release in the "30 for 30" documentary film series.

He sat down on the "SportsCenter" set with Brian Kenny to discuss a variety of topics related to the Miami Dolphins, his career and the draft.

On the Brandon Marshall trade:

"It's huge. It gives us a threat down the field. I think we were a little disappointed last year with our receivers' production as far as scoring points, and a lot of it fell on Ronnie [Brown] and myself. I think we're going to have a more balanced attack and we're going to be more potent this year."

On how Marshall impacts the offense:

"The Wildcat will still be a part of what we do, and we'll still run the ball. But I think when it's time to go up field, we'll have a threat."

On reconsidering his declaration 2010 will be his final season:

"If things were to end this year, I would be very, very happy walking away from the game."

On dealing with misconceptions:

"The one thing that bothers me the most about when I stepped away is people only talk about the drugs and the marijuana. To me, that's a very small fraction of the reason why I stepped away and what I did while I was away. I stepped away to find out more about myself, which I was having difficulty doing as a football player. I got a chance to travel the world. I studied Eastern philosophy, and I've grown as a person so much."

unlike other ex fins, if we offer he stays and plays, if we dont he retires... Its really that simple... If he runs like he has been, he will be back IMO

Ricky will go out on a high note. He will run good again this year and be done. I don't think he really wants another year, contract or extension. The FO would really have to talk him in to not retiring. I only hope his character on the field rubs off before he goes.

I think if he runs well he will get his contract extension (maybe two years?) and stay on another season or two.
