Really hurt his stock with his combine. It one thing to run 4.95 when you are a 280-300 lbs DT, but when you are a 230 lbs linebacker, that a major red flag. Still a good football player, but teams will certainly look at his tape again.

The kid I like from Clemson, Stephone Anthony ran a 4.56.

That is really slow, I wonder if there were any circumstances, because that is really slow, too slow imo.

I like Anthony a lot, not sure what his best NFL position will be, he has the tools to be an ILB in a 3-4 or any LB spot in a 4-3, he definitely has the wheels to play outside and has shown an ability to rush the passer.

He would be a very nice pick up.

Mike Mayock had Dawson as his top linebacker. SO to say he was pretty shocked by that time is an understatement. He did not test well at all, as he had a 28.0 vertical and less than a 10 ft Broad Jump. 21 reps @ 225 lbs is decent.

Plus he has character issues. I think Anthony is now the top inside backer.

Did not realize he had character issues as well. Not good.

Tony, you tipped me off on Anthony a while back and unfortunately he is no longer an under the radar guy. If Miami goes WR in Rd 1 he might be a great 2nd Rd pickup.

He might end up going to Green Bay in round 1.

I saw him in 1 mock in the 1st round. He is gaining momentum though.

His 40 time was a dissappointment. I felt the same way about Perryman. Thompson and Kendicks did well imo.

I think the Cards could take him at 24.

Quote:
Clemson's Stephone Anthony is "one of the best ILB prospects in the draft no one is paying attention to," noted TFY Draft Insider's Tony Pauline.
The analyst added that he was happy to see Anthony "tear it up" at Sunday's combine workouts. Anthony posted a sensational 4.56 forty. He chipped in 23 bench press reps, a 37-inch vertical, and a 122-inch broad jump. The 6-foot-2, 235-pound Anthony, a prototypical inside linebacker, has had his anticipation questioned in the past, but nobody will take issue with his athleticism after today.

Quote:
NFL Media analyst Mike Mayock mentioned that an "old-school scout" told him to trust his gut on TCU LB Paul Dawson.
"Don't get off Paul Dawson. ... Trust your gut," the scout told Mike Mayock. The 6-foot, 235-pound TCU prospect, has shown great instincts on film and played at a high level for the Horned Frogs. While Dawson didn't show out at the combine like many expected, the eye in the sky is his best friend. Teams will have to go back and do their homework on Dawson and roll the dice if they believe he's their target on day 1.

Didn't Ray Lewis run a 4.7+ 40 at his combine? He certainly never looked slow.

Character issues and weak tools doesn't sound good.

I have heard he has off field incidents before. Never heard specifics.

I'm sure there will be some on here saying a take a chance and what not and it very rarely works out. Luckily, they aren't the Gm(s).

I'm sure there will be some who will not. Luckily neither are the choir boy champions.

Dawson got man handled a bit too much on tape for my liking. Great instincts. Not a good athlete.
