### The Dolphins have told multiple people that they want to add a starting linebacker, and they’re expected to pursue the Jets’ David Harris, 31, who had 123 tackles and 5.5 sacks in 2014 and is considered the best free agent inside linebacker.

Mike Tannenbaum, the Dolphins’ president/football operations, drafted Harris out of Michigan in the second round in 2007, when he was the Jets’ GM.

Though Harris played inside linebacker in a 3-4 defense with the Jets, he has the skills to play middle linebacker in a 4-3.

Miami is one of the teams that is believed to appeal to Harris, but it remains unclear how high the Dolphins will go in the bidding. If the Dolphins are outbid for Harris, they have interest in Tampa Bay free agent Mason Foster, 25, who has started 57 games with six sacks and five interceptions in four years for Tampa and was drafted by the Buccaneers when Dolphins GM Dennis Hickey worked there.

I'd be ok with Harris or Foster... both great players at one point that probably still have more in the tank then what we currently have.

I got no problem with the Dolphins pursuing Harris.

My question is why is he actually going to be a FA. Last time I checked, the Jets have plenty of cap space... and the core of that team (and only thing worth building around) is Wilkerson and Richardson.... the best young pair of DT's in the league.

Why would Todd Bowles (a defensive minded coach) be willing to let Harris walk away without a contract, if by result you are now raise a question mark in the middle of your defense?

What is Harris really? The best interior Linebacker in this FA class.... but is that because he was groomed under Sexy Rexy's scheme? Is it because he plays off the asses of the best young interior linemen in the league? Or is he that good? Is Buffalo pursuing his talents too?

Just throwing it out there. There comes a point where flipping players between Miami and New York starts to get old, when trading bottom tier talent is yesterday's news..... Think Clyde Gates, Dustin Keller, Yeremiah Bell, hell even Jason Taylor! LOL

No seriously, I am not against this move...... Im just suspicious

Sounds like we're not going to upgrade ILB through the draft......so I don't see LB as a top draft pick, or possibly any pick.

If we bring in a top free agent ILB, there's a good chance Misi will be traded or cut.......likely cut. Releasing Misi will provide $3.7M in additional cap space. So then McCain & Jordan will compete for OLB, opposite Jenkins.

Sounds like an ideal situation to me.

Who do you want in the first round MaK?

Just curious.

A playmaking WR that help out this offense. IMO, LBs, safties, and RBs can be found later in the draft. A strong DL makes the secondary better. As far as which player? I don't know until I start reading draft magazines, Tony and Mark's prospects...lol. I know that I don't want a LB in the 1st rd.

Even if it's a Luke Kuechly or a Patrick Willis?

I don't know that those guys exist in this draft, just playing devil's advocate.

If you can see the future, sure. Or how about N. Bowman in the 3rd instead?

Can I get an amen? :awe:

You have committed to the QB. Get the target that fits his talents and turns fist pumps into TD's!

We have have two very good to great WRs in Wallace and Landry. Two good tight ends and a good pass catching RB. Tanny needs a line to protect him. Get one of the top guards in FA, draft defense this year with the at least 2 of the top 3 picks, including the first.

I wouldn't say Miller is a good pass catcher. He leaves a lot to be desired in the passing game IMO, even average would be a compliment to his catching skills from what I have seen. Not to say he won't improve on that this season, I am a fan of his.
