released or traded. Dolphins said no. From Armando Salguero.

Armando Salguero ‏@ArmandoSalguero 51m51 minutes ago

Dolphins WR room is not a safe place. Hartline, Gibson released, Wallace drama and possible release, Matthews asked to be released/traded.

What a mess. You would think he would be happy getting an opportunity to earn a bigger role in Miami with the release of Gibson and Hartline.

Lol how does that conversation go anyways...

Matthews: "I want to be released or traded."

Dolphins: "no"

Matthews: " ok "

What else could he possibly say? lol

Yep, I'm sure for no reason at all.

Yep, either way we don't know. What I do know is that Hartline blew and hit his ceiling as Mathews showed flashes and the endzone.

Well he asked for this at the end of summer so I'm not sure if Salguero's info is simply dated and he's misrepresenting the timing of it.

Matthews has a big opportunity if Miami doesn't spend multiple picks on WR.

I think I remember how disappointed they were in his practice habits & effort last fall.

Hes got some skills but it seems to me he hasn't earned a better chance to prove it yet

Man nearly the entire WR core did/does not want to play for this team. I'd seriously kill to exactly why, not theorized.

May be some assumptions going on there, but based on the behavior of everyone aside from Landry there doesn't seem to be a lot of respect for the offense they're playing under.

Well you can safely rule out the venue. Doesn't take a lot of investigative work to realize how likely toxic the coaching staff may be.

I think each guy had his own problem. Wallace hated not being fed the ball like an alpha guy plus the lack of deep plays. I think the rest hated how their roles were minimized by more targets to Landry and the TEs.

I personally think Matthews can be a big upgrade over Hartline and Gibson if he has his head on straight. He seems to make tough grabs and has that YAC ability.

I think they are/were all JAGS(just another guy), except for Wallace. The unit needs an influx of actual talent.

With power house talent like Brian Hartline no longer here, Matthews should be able to get more reps.

I thought we signed a bunch of guys with "potential" and they just need a change of "scenery" and you "never know". More like a bunch of scrubs and the legendary "they suck" was born.. Told you....lol

Not sure who a bunch of guys that they signed with potential were, but Ok.

I think you might be leaving out the word "Maybe" Meaning maybe all they need is a change of scenery. Sometimes it works out, sometimes it does not. Everyone on the team cannot be a superstar and sometimes picking up someone else's discard works out.

The NFL is full of waived players becoming quality players for other teams, just as someone star player becoming a bum on another team.

Depth players are always going to be JAGs

Dolphins WR Rishard Matthews reportedly asked the team to trade or release him.
The Dolphins balked at Matthews' request, and he'll stay on the roster for now. Matthews openly clashed with coach Joe Philbin in 2014, spending most of the season as Miami's No. 5 wideout behind Mike Wallace, Jarvis Landry, Brian Hartline, and Brandon Gibson. Matthews' roster security remains tenuous.

Let's get it straight. I did not ask for a trade. Nor did I ask to be released. So whatever these false articles are #MoveOn

Another quality report by Armando...
