He's reporting the parameters have been agreed upon. 6 years, $114 million and $60 million guaranteed.

Must be nice to be Stephen Ross and just crap money. I am amazed that he is getting $60 million guaranteed. Now we all have to hope and pray this guy one stays healthy and two stays motivated to play at the highest level.

I don't trust Mort but I'm excited if this is true.

Suddenly Brady & Shady seem a lot less intimidating

Signing Suh is way huge, but Miami has other glaring holes of weakness to now address.

If Steve Ross gives Suh a $20M signing or roster bonus in year one the cap hit could be as little as $4-5M in 1st yr.

The reason I would be suspicious about this report is because it's tampering to agree to a deal prior to tuesday, not to say the deal is not on the table, but with all the deals not even in yet, and it still being technically a tampering period, even though the rules are relaxed, I am not taking this at face value.

Yeah Tony and the rumor on the street is Buffalo will trump the Clay offer and Miami will let him walk and free up an additional $7 million. I now say you have to get another starting corner (free agent or draft) and absolutely you have got to plug in two more stout starters at guard to protect Tannehill. You don't protect him and it will be ground hog's day with him beat up on his back.

Also, if they found a way to steal Searcy away from Buffalo for Safety that would be amazing.

Finster, if you recall the past two big free agent signings, both Wallace and Alberts news were also leaked out early. I am sure this is legit as too many sources are now piggy backing the report out.

Mortenson has the same agent as Suh. Jimmy Sexton.

Karl, why are you surprised Suh got what he got? When you are talking about someone who was considered the biggest defensive free agent since Reggie White, he was going to get PAID.

Not worried about Suh motivation. He was already being paid over 12 mill/per year while with the Lions.

He is an impact player. Some on the board will want to byotch about it. Go right ahead.

The Bills just gave Shady McCoy 16.5 mill/per year. The Bills are throwing out over the top money, so if the want to give Clay that type of money or more, so be it.

Miami will make a run at Searcy I believe along with CB Patrick Robinson. I think Antrel Rolle is in play as well.

Tony, I was just saying that I am amazed that someone has crossed that $60 million barrier and oh I am absolutely excited he comes in and really helps, but one cannot help still say your hoping for the most obvious concerns , if there are any which IMO is staying healthy of course and staying motivated. But I am very happy about this as he is a rare breed on defense and he does way more than even the stats show.

You may very well be correct Fin, good points, but it seems to me that his agent is gearing up for a bidding war and the highest bidder will win.

Suh is a bit different than Wallace or Albert, neither Wallace or Albert were considered the best in the league at their position, in fact both were thought to have fairly big concerns, so when they get an offer like we gave them they jump on it, because a bidding war could actually lower their price. Lets say Wallace declined the Fins offer hoping for a bigger contract, but did not get any offers like the Fins offer, and now the Fins know this and they lower their offer.

That won't happen with Suh, he is the type of player that does create a bidding war, and teams will go over what they thought they would to get him in a bidding war, so I'd be kind of surprised to see Suh sign anywhere immediately.

I hear where you are coming from, but generally if this is literally plastered all over ESPN, this is a done deal. Plus I think $60 million guaranteed was a number Ross vaulted to in order to eliminate other bidders.

I get the "it isn't over til it's over" Yogi Berra motto, but I think we can all enjoy this win for the Dolphins.

Like I have been saying. This is a great regime. Nobody can say other wise. Probably to much money but in the end its all about rings & the Dolphins are on to more than one.

From what I have read the other determining factor was no taxes. With that kind of money he is getting no states taxes is huge.

Suh never struck me as lazy. He always seems hungry. For quarterbacks, lol.

No doubt Swerve, the guy bleeds cash and I do give him a lot of credit, he is trying really hard for us fans by trying to get the best players for the Miami Dolphins.

Ha! Ha! Tony, you know someone is going to be negative on this move! Grabbing a defensive "game changing" special player is really something.

I agree. I used to think he was a dirty player. Now I see that I was mistaken. Just looking at all his on field "incidents" on you tube. Pretty obvious he was provoked.
Once again proud to be a Dolphin fan in March , only this time I will be proud in January & February.

I would like to get away from Wallace now, either this year or next. Try to crawl away from that ridiculous cash spent on him.

Over a 1 yr commitment, with reportedly all the cap space we will have in 2016? Sounds like a really ill advised move, especially with all the crickets chirping at this year's TE draft class.

Is that considered "bitching"? I hope we don't feel like this 2 years down the road with Suh.

Big difference. Suh is the best at what he does and Wallace is like the 20th best at what he does. LOL.

This isn't bitching, but we've been burned in the past with free agent signings like this. I hope it works out, I'm just skeptical.

Anthony , all those burns were squarely on the staff. I am sure they got their act together now.
Look , we had to do something since we cannot use "The Patriots have not won anything since spygate" saying anymore.

This is how a team is SUHposed to be!!

Look I understand that some won't like this move, and that's justifiable.
I'm a little bit in the middle, sort of scared about that money but also really excited about the player.
But whichever side you fall on about the contract doesn't matter once he is signed.

The fact of the matter is that our defense just got "Scary Legit".
So we should all be excited about that. Whether you admit it or not, Bellichek and Brady are grimmacing about this move and this defense now. We really should lead the league in hurries and sacks this year.
And Suh will be a nightmare for Brady.

This move also negates everything that the Jets and Bills have been busy doing to get better, This is the great equalizer. Suh will harass Brady, Geno and EJ. And Wake will be there with the finising kill shots.
Miami fans should expect playoffs this year. Anything less will be a failure.

Totally understandable Mak attack. Let's win the east this year buddy! Crack a beer or 2 over this one.
