Colts hired Joe Philbin as offensive line coach.

Philbin should help turn around a Colts offensive line that struggled with pass protection in 2015.

I can't imagine Joe turning around an offensive line. lol

I thought he was already hired by the Giants.

This is the misconception that is evident in regards to Gase or other QB whisperers. How you do as a head coach usually has no bearing on how you do as an assistant and vice versa. For instance Wade Phillips is an outstanding defensive coordinator but every head coach job he's had has a so-so defense. Joe Philbin is an offensive line coach. He was not coaching the offensive line as a head coach (I'm not sure what he did as a head coach lol)

Some guys were meant to be head coaches, other assistants or coordinators.

We will not know what Gase will be until after the season.

Sounds about right. You can tell a lot about our former coaches by how they land on their feet. Philbin is exactly where he belongs. He can't call plays, so naturally he reverts back to an assistant. Our interim found a better gig than he did. That in itself is telling. Campbell is well respected, Philbin not so much.

[quote]Philbin went 24-28 as the Dolphins’ head coach in parts of four seasons, and was fired after a 1-3 start in 2015.
His No. 1 job is to get his players to protect the quarterback — something he could never do in Miami. Dolphins quarterback Ryan Tannehill has been sacked a league-high 184 times since entering the league in 2012.
Tannehill’s counterpart in Indianapolis, Andrew Luck, missed last season’s final seven games after suffering a lacerated kidney[/quote)

:haha
