Post PFW: Koa Misi Must Improve Pass-Rush Moves

We haven't seen him compete in full pads yet, but Dolphins observers said second-round pick Koa Misi isn't blowing anyone away in OTAs and minicamp. Misi, who is transitioning from playing defensive end in college to outside linebacker, is penciled in as Miami's starter on the strong side. Evaluators say Misi needs to work on developing his pass-rush moves before he can become an effective rusher off the edge.

I simply don't get it... I hear reporters and reports saying that he is standing out the first practices and now he isn't blowing anyone away and is even gonna have to improve on something he was supposed to be already good.

Confusing.

I also saw an article somewhere that Davone Bess is on the brink of losing his job, I think the national media has no clue when it comes to this team.

While I expect Misi to be on a learning curve, the report took me by surprise as I had been hearing the opposite from the Florida media.

Yeah that's my point... everything we hear is entitled to the reporter because the team is not letting us know squat until season begins.

everything reported so far doesn't really mean too much cause the pads aren't on yet. once guys are out their pushing, shoving, and hitting each other we will know who can do what.

So until training camp comes along we really don't know if the rooks are doing ok or not. Some guys look like the real deal running around w/o pads, but the real test is if they can do it with pads on. That is the closest simulation to playing in a game.

Misi was not a good passrusher at Utah, why would he suddenly become a good one in Miami in his first season?

That is a part of the reason why we will see more 4 man dlines this year, the OLB's are more good all around players rather than passrushers off of the edge..save for Cam Wake.

Well thats it then. He's a bust and needs to be cut. :)

This type of news is nothing more than "filler" for a slow time of year.
