3. Here’s one of the mysteries of this Dolphins offense: All year long, we’ve heard they can’t throw long because of protection issues. Yet for the second game this year, Matt Moore subbed in for Jay Cutler and it was bombs away. On Moore’s first two drives of the second half, he threw for 49 yards to Jarvis Landry and 45 and 61 yards to Kenny Stills. Moore, of course, is the designated “gunslinger” who “picks a guy and lets it fly” (a Dan Marino saying). But just by coming on and doing this it also brings into issue why the pop-gun passes that have Cutler with a career-low 5.87 yards per attempt (his previous career low was 6.61 in 2009). Say what you will about Moore, but the ball gets downfield in a manner it doesn’t under Cutler. Stills was an example of that. He had one catch for 26 yards from Cutler (that was Cutler’s longest pass of the day). He had six catches for 154 yards from Moore.

This points to the fact there is something wrong with Cutler's arm.

Moore just needs to start. Period.

Moore also comes in with half the game gone and down by 2 scores so throwing long is a must.
But I totally agree that with receivers like Parker and Stills we need to throw long all game long and Cutler cannot do that. He dinks and dunks to Landry who is becoming the king of the 2 yard TD pass.
