Let's not belittle this signing. This was Nick Saban's biggest contribution to the Dolphins when he signed him as a free agent rookie.

:yay: :yay:

It’s not a complete housecleaning in Miami. There’s at least one old guy they may never get rid of.

According to Armando Salguero of the Miami Herald, the Dolphins have re-signed long snapper John Denney.

Denney will turn 40 this season, and it will be his 14th season with the team.

While some may say he’s just the long snapper, he’s steady at his job, and it’s good to have a few things to count on, at a time when they’re jettisoning the old and expensive like Ndamukong Suh, Jarvis Landry and Mike Pouncey.

Don't they every March?
TBH, at least they took their O-line seriously this year. That's refreshing! Although, both new guys are actually old guys, so I still hope for some draft love there.

Well, the price of a good long snapper just went up.

Raiders signed LS Andrew DePaola, formerly of the Bears, to a four-year, $4.27 million contract. The deal includes $875,000 guaranteed, and makes DePaola the league's highest-paid player who snaps the ball a longer distance than it is usually snapped. Rarely, if ever, do you see a team signing away a long snapper. The deal comes on the heels of the Raiders' blockbuster signing of FB Keith Smith, a converted linebacker. To date, new coach Jon Gruden seems to be pursuing a decidedly old school approach.
