Not sure just what rt has been doing the past 10 months besides healing and maybe fishing for marlin. Wonder if he is wearing a brace now? Is he active? Is he training? Hope he is healthy.

He has been medically cleared to play since march. He will wear a brace in games and live practice, but has no physical limitations or a need to be held back..

This is a video from last months OTA's

He jumps from semi-tall masts into the ocean in a single bound.

This is from 'Mando's blog yesterday. It looks like he is a full go, but they will limit him to bring him along at a safe pace. They also want to give the back ups reps as well. There you have it. We won't really know until we start to hear reports of our practices.

Armando Salguero wrote:
Miami Dolphins doctors, coaches and Ryan Tannehill will meet this week to decide how much work the quarterback will do during the onfield "organized team activity" sessions that begin next Tuesday and run into mid-June.

According to Dolphins sources the expectation is Tannehill — who missed the final month of 2016 with a partially torn ACL and all of last season when he further tore the same ligament — will be able to participate in the OTAs with little or no limitations.

That would be the medical decision. But coaches might still opt to limit the quarterback in some form not only to work Tannehill in methodically but also to give backup quarterbacks Brock Osweiler and David Fales ample work — including perhaps some snaps with the first-team offense.

All that will be settled by Tuesday when the work begins in earnest, and will be on display to reporters for the first time on Wednesday when the Dolphins open that day's OTA practice to media scrutiny.

With all of our new receivers and running backs, once everyone is signed I expect Tannehill to get the majority of the snaps. He has to develop chemistry with those guys.

Here are some positive recounts that Hal Habib put together of quarterbacks coming back from injury. If we believe what we hear, last summer Tannehill looked like he took the next step forward in Gase's offense before he hurt himself again. I'm hoping that he continues that next step this summer.

:wow

Not even the greatest optimist can expect Tannehill to come anywhere close to the magic Marino pulled off in his return: 473 yards and five touchdown passes including a dramatic late score in a 39-35 escape against New England.

If you’re wondering how NFL quarterbacks typically respond from long layoffs, the answer is often, they look more like themselves than you might expect.

Speaking of Hall of Fame-caliber QBs, we’ll begin with Tom Brady, who tore his ACL and missed all but one game of the 2008 season. He immediately went to the Pro Bowl the next year, going 10-6 and winning the AFC East. His stats were very Brady: 4,398 yards, 28 TDs, 13 interceptions and a 96.2 rating.

Green Bay’s Aaron Rodgers fractured his collarbone in 2013 but came out sizzling in ’14 with 38 TDs and only five interceptions. His passer rating was 112.2, eight points higher than his career stat, which ought to encourage Packers fans since he missed nine games last year with another collarbone injury.

Matthew Stafford played only three games of his second NFL season in 2010 because of a shoulder injury. The Lions obviously didn’t have many concerns about it in ’11, because his 663 attempts led the league. His 5,038 yards were a career high and his passer rating was among his best ever at 97.2.

Carson Palmer, a spectator with the Bengals for a dozen games in 2008 after injuring his elbow, put up more pedestrian numbers when he returned (3,094 yards, 21 TDs, 13 INTs). Ditto for Alex Smith, who missed 2008 with the 49ers because of a bum shoulder, then put up an 81.5 passer rating in ’09.

Yeah same here. I can see them working in the others for the first week or so, but Ryan should have the clear advantage...
He did not play or practice, but he was there day in and day out, in the meeting rooms, on the sidelines etc.
