While Coach Gase was telling us that we don't know what we are talking about in our criticism of Kiko Alonso's play last year because we don't know the schemes and who is supposed to be covering who, LB Coach Bush gives an honest opinion on him.
Finally, there’s Frank Bush, who was in his first season as Miami’s linebackers coach.
“I’d kind of say it was up and down,” Bush said. “I was expecting a lot more from him. I’m sure he expected more from me. He did what we thought he should do and he can play better. He can play better in coverage. Some of his tackling was suspect.”
“He had the same amount of tackles this year as last year, right?” coach Adam Gase said in one particularly touchy exchange with a reporter last season. (For the record, Alonso had 115 both years.)
“Do you know who was supposed to cover who? Was it a safeties issue? Was it him? Was it man-to-man coverage?” http://dailydolphin.blog.palmbeachpost. ... t-in-2018/
