The Dolphins are likely to sign running back Brandon Bolden, a league source said Tuesday.

Bolden, 28, has played 83 games for the Patriots over six years, with 6 starts. Bolden averaged 5.2 yards per carry last season and has averaged 4.2 over his career.

But more than anything, Bolden should be able to contribute to the Dolphins special teams group.

Miami was looking for help due to the loss of core special teamer and linebacker Mike Hull for at least the first eight weeks of the season.

:yay:

So, we've signed a QB who has insight into the Titans offense/defense (game 1) and a good special teamer who knows the Patriots inside and out. I like it.

When the Patriots learned Bolden was considering the Dolphins, they tried to convince Bolden to return. The Dolphins obviously won that contract battle.

Bolden, 28, was considered a leader in the New England locker room.

It really fits with the movement to bring in solid vets who will be good leaders. I like it, even though the o-line depth still worries me. I'm not at all sold on the decision to have 4 QBs on the roster. Either Fales or (preferably) Osweiler should go.

I like it, too. I am interested to know why we have 5 RBs and 4 QBs on our roster when we are weak at LB and OL depth. We will have to keep them on the roster for 2 weeks. It looks like my Dynasty roster where I accumlated players at certain positions because I've got to have them (lol).

Any "win" over the Patriots is enjoyable. And I'll bet his wife looks great in aqua and orange in a bikini at South Beach.

Barry Jackson wrote:
Among the reasons running back Brandon Bolden decided to sign with the Dolphins instead of returning to New England, which wanted him back after cutting him:

His wife Arianna preferred Miami. “She was ready to get out of there,” Bolden said of the Boston area.

And here’s another: Former Patriots teammate Danny Amendola, now with the Dolphins, told him that Adam Gase is “a real personable person, a players coach. And you talk to everyone and [you see] he’s telling the truth. He told me it’s a different environment here.”

Amendola told Bolden that Amendola “was so excited I got released” because he saw the opportunity of Bolden joining the Dolphins.

Gase said Bolden is ready to help immediately on special teams.

“I joked with Bolden that I was sick of coaching against him,” special teams coordinator Darren Rizzi said.

Bolden's thoughts after 2 games. After being on Super Bowl teams, he sees this team as "special".

Barry Jackson wrote:
Said Dolphins special teams ace and former Patriot Brandon Bolden: “If you are not in this building, you won’t appreciate what I’ve been witnessing for two weeks - how amazing these guys are and how they go about working.”

I have been using that special word for a few weeks now.
This season just seems different. Im sure alot of you are getting the same impression. The AFC is weak and wide open. So why not us.
I really feel we start 4-0 before facing an improved Bengal team.

I've been on these boards a long time, and I seriously still don't know if and when to take you seriously, Finesse. Obviously much of the time you're not serious, and I actually enjoy the posts because I think they're not meant to be combative, just fun, and I take them that way.

But here you seem to mean what you say, to some degree anyway. Except maybe for the 4-0 point, since that would mean we beat the Pats, which most of us wouldn't seriously predict.

Anyway, I think you're right about a lot of what you said even if it was done tongue-in-cheek.

Pats are vulnerable. So many new players who will not grasp the rivalry.
