Miami Dolphins: DE William Hayeshttp://insider.espn.com/nfl/insider/sto ... 018-season
The deal: One year, $4.05 million with $4 million in guarantees
This says more about the current state of the Dolphins' salary cap than anything. Hayes is a fine player -- a lineman who can play both the run and the pass well enough to be a net positive. His salary is a drop in the bucket, and the guarantees don't matter that much when you're taking it year to year. But mostly this is about the Dolphins not making a lot of their free-agency opportunities. Of their big contracts, only Kenny Stills is providing more than the deal is worth.
Hayes actually had a so-so game for the Dolphins, but he was out for most of the preseason.https://grades.profootballfocus.com/#/r ... yTeamId=17
