Sorry guys, busy week so I'm behind on the usual weekly preview. This will be quick.

The Miami Dolphins travel to Green Bay this Sunday for a 1 PM game against the Packers. Vegas has the Dolphins as 10 point underdogs with a 47.5 over/under. In short, they think Green Bay will pound them.

Miami is coming off a pathetic offensive showing at home versus the Jets. They couldn't muster more than two field goals. Brock Osweiler is trending in the wrong direction and Adam Gase is riding 35 year old Frank Gore rather than featuring Kenyan Drake. Devante Parker is back on the injury report with knee issues. Reshad Jones' mysterious self benching coupled with Gase's shot at defensive coordinator Matt Burker was the cherry on top this week. This is setting up to be a disaster. Originally I thought Miami needed to be 6-4 heading into the bye for a shot at the playoffs and that would mean winning this game. Fortunately the imploding Jacksonville Jaguars may offer that chance in December rather than praying Miami can pull off this stunning upset.

Miami struggles against good QBs and Aaron Rodgers is among the best ever. He is not going to throw multiple interceptions to bail out Miami's defense. If anything he'll evade the rush, buy time and carve up the secondary who will be asked to do too much this week. The Packer offense ranks 6th in yards and 14th in points scored. They don't have a threatening ground game but Rodgers will more than make up for that with his receiving weapons which include Jimmy Graham, Geronimo Allison, Randall Cobb and of course the dominant Davante Adams. Adams already has 58 catches and 7 TDs on the season. Xavien Howard will need his A game to slow him down.

While Green Bay's defense is meh at best (16th in yards allowed, 21st in points allowed) are we to expect that Miami will generate anything against them? Their rushing defense is the Achilles heel so just maybe Miami's backs can help move the chains. But I imagine they'll force Osweiler to throw the ball and that will result in plenty of dead drives. Even Miami reporters are writing about Osweiler's continued inconsistent practices with bad accuracy. So much for that breath of fresh air from a month ago.

Miami only wins this game if Rodgers has a bad day and Jakeem Grant creates very short fields via the return game. Burke is coaching for his job and going up against Rodgers is probably the last thing he needs to save it. I looked up the forecast for Green Bay and it will be a chilly 37 degrees on Sunday. They are expecting snowfall out there tomorrow.

Again, this just has the makings of a disaster which will open the door for reevaluation and change during the bye week. The Packers are coming off consecutive road losses to the Los Angeles Rams and New England Patriots. They'll be playing angry and trying to save their playoff hopes as they sit at 3-4-1 on the season. Expect a blood bath.

Green Bay 34

Miami 13

Your luck may be strong...but for this game please take a rabbit's foot, four leaf clover, golden horseshoe, and if possible make sure a rainbow is beaming down on you! We are going to need all the mojo available to pull this one out.

Who will we have as our starting 5 linemen? Boy, I wish we had two good tight ends to run all day in a 2 TE set, pound Gore and take some max protect play action shots.

Miami usually does well in the cold.
Rodgers as good as he is has not faced an oportunistic defense like this.
Miami will score on offense.
Green Bay fumbles.
I run Gore ... alot.
2 average teams but a winable one for a road team.
Miami 24
Green Bay 23

Nicely done, Dan. I posted it as your game day blog.

I think the question is whether the defense can keep the game close. By your score it looks like they will.

:))

OK, I'm really

After the beatdown in Foxboro, I was so sold on the 3-0 mirage that I didn’t even care about talking playoffs. I don’t want this team to make the playoffs. It would be another boring one off. That doesn’t help anybody.

At least Miami has the advantage at QB in this game.

I'm thinking the Phins should forfeit this game............they are so banged up. Give everyone 2 weeks rest and see if we can make a run in the last 6 games.

Gase needs to stop benching Gore or passing in the red zone.

We are one bad pass from Osweiller from being in the lead at halftime. Parker was wide open and Osweiller just overthrew him.

That one was on Xavian Howard. I'm not sure what was going on with him on that play. We had it close just a few minutes ago, but now they have a very comfortable lead. And the INT that led to this touchdown, Osweiller is just horrible .He had all day to throw it and he threw it poorly. He gets worst each game.

Is it my imagination or does Osweiller just fall down when he feels pressure.

Coach Rizzi gave Carroo an earful after that fake punt by the Packers.

All I keep hearing is that with each sack the Packers player is getting his first sack. Christmas is early for the Packers.

I put this on our staff. They can’t coach at all and send talent away because they can’t figute out how to motivate and discipline players. Injuries piling up. What is Miami’s conditioning problem? This happens every season. Throw in bad draft and personnel moves.....

Can u blame him? The line sucks and so do most of the receivers. They are always hurt and unable to match up well because they are not physical or tall. Gase sets up Brock for failure....he insists on pulling Gore out. That dude is the only good player on offense....90 yards rushing...but they kept taking him out in the red zone. Gase is a moron

Welp. At least it wasn't Matt Barkley looking like Aaron Rogers. It was actually Aaron Rogers.

I've been a gase supporter and giving him benefit of the doubt, but dude needs to go. Seeing his ineptitude live vs tv shows how he is a horrid play caller
