Did not hear this mentioned after the Saints took down the Rams last week. I wonder if those guys still celebrate when the last undefeated Team goes down.

Yes they do but now it is more subdued since some of the guys known for getting together do not live as close to each other as they used too.

The guys are getting old, and as Mark said, they've moved around. Also, the national sports media has tried to shame them for celebrating an unrepeatable accomplishment. I'm still celebrating! Perfectville!

Not buying it as the Phins went on to win the next years super bowl. No curse except for those uttered against the current regime and maybe some past ones.

Come on NFL media. Shame them for celebrating one of the greatest accomplishments in sports. I tip my glass to them.

Barry Jackson wrote:
Little says several members of the undefeated 1972 team — Mercury Morris, Csonka, Bob Griese, Larry Ball and himself, plus coach Don Shula — had a “little toast” in Delray Beach last week days after the Rams became this season’s last undefeated team to lose. They were there with Peyton Manning to tape a Dolphins segment for the NFL’s 100th anniversary special programming that will air next year.

I've been a fan of this team, a die hard throguh and through, since I knew what football was. My dad used to have pride in the undefeated season, would wait for every team to get beat each year, but now... with the current state of this franchise and the way it's been the last 15 years, it just doesn't mean what it used to. Woohoo, let's celebrate something that happened 45 years ago because it's the ONLY thing we have to celebrate. That and a QB who was the best to never win a Super Bowl - we can celebrate him too.

The luster of the continued beat down the fans have gotten from this team has simply hurt the fan base - as evident by the amount of activity on these forums and other places as well. It's just tiresome after all of these years to continue to see the same song and dance... over and over and over and over again.

Screw Perfectville, let's try winning today.
