Randy Thomas said the Dolphins called him a day ago to come down for a tryout and signed him immediately. "I'm not done," he said.

New O-lineman Randy Thomas admitted he's not in the best shape, but "I'm trying to earn a spot."

Jared Odrick called Jake Long a liar for claiming he gives him tips on how to improve."All he wants to do is beat me down every day," Odrick

WR Greg Camarillo (groin) participated in the first 30 minutes of practice then went to do his rehab assignment.

TE David Martin dropped a wide open would-be touchdown pass during red zone work. He had no excuse.

RB Tristan Davis (right knee) started practice with the team but stopped working after 30 minutes and began rehab.

Ronnie Brown threw a touchdown pass out of the Wildcat. Can't tell you what happened. I'd be hunted down.

Patrick Cobbs, Davone Bess and Marlon Moore were the three players working as kickoff returners on Wednesday. No Nolan Carroll today.

Rookie WR Marlon Moore is working as the second team slot which is huge for his chances of cracking the 53.

DE Tony McDaniel has been turning it on lately. He was a force against the run.

Andrew Hartline messed up a snap to Chad Pennington during team portion of practice. He's got to get it together.

Chad Pennington does more in practice counseling and mentoring that he does throwing, but it's all helpful. Today he talked to B. Marshall.

Paul Soliai spent second team period working with the starters but was easily single blocked by Joe Berger. Good sign or bad one?

WR Davone Bess caught an impressive slant from Chad Henne, who caught him in stride as he got behind the safety.

Newly signed OG Randy Thomas worked with the starting offensive line at left guard during the second team period.

QB Tyler Thigpen threw what would have been a TD pass to Davone Bess, who got behind Kevin Hobbs

Chad Pennington was picked off by Jonathan Amaya, who pulled in a floater of a pass Kevin Hobbs tipped into the air.

QB Tyler Thigpen threw a 50-yard touchdown pass to Roberto Wallace. Great throw and Wallace muscled Kevin Hobbs to get it.

SS Tyrone Culver intercepted a Pat White pass JD Folsom tipped into the air. It was a potential pick-six.

I don't see any of these guys being effective kick returners....This position is a serious concern!!!!!!!

Field position for this team is very important, IMO...

Patrick Cobbs has been "effective" since taking over the job. How is this so serious that it deserves that many exclamation points?

Because they entire kickoff team would have to fall down for him to return one for a touchdown and Cobbs was consitently below average.......@ 20 yds per return for his career!!!!!!!!!!!! :boo:

From what ive seen so far we have the worst kick returners in the division...Not good

Tristan Davis was chosen to return the opening kickoff of the Miami Dolphins' preseason last Saturday night.

That was good news.

Davis landed in Sports Illustrated with a two-page photo spread of him returning that kick near the front of this week's magazine.

That was even better news.

The bad news? Davis is shown in SI desperately trying to retrieve the football from the infield mud after he'd fumbled his only shot at kickoff returning in the game

Hopefully Carroll can do the job....
