Tough blow for a rising tight end: Joey Haynos has been waived/injured by Dolphins. Expect Fasano, Martin & Nalbone to be Miami's TE trio.

rising tight end???? where on earth did that come from ?
i saw very little in him , no speed ,no hands ,no toughness , he maybe able to block a bit
but thats it ,sperry had far more upside than this guy and we waived him prior

imo no big loss

I disagree. Perhaps he was never going to set the world alight with his pace, athleticism or great hands, but he was solid for us last season and with Martin, #2 TE, Haynos would have been handy in the Red Zone. I was looking forward to our TE having another 08 performance and Haynos was part of that.

I don't think Nalbone has the ability to play ball. I think we will end up picking some one of waivers if not after tomorrow's cuts, then the next ones. We definately need a 3rd TE on our roster.

i cant see us having 5 wr`s , 5rb`s and 3 tight ends on roster, haynos has had nearly 2 years to produce something
and has done nothing , i dont think he plays on special teams [or is a long snapper] so to keep him for red zone offense is a waste of a roster spot!!

The Miami Dolphins have released former University of Maryland tight end Joey Haynos with an injury-waived designation.

Haynos injured his foot recently and coach Tony Sparano said that he would be out for a while.

The 6-foot-8, 270-pounder was signed by the Green Bay Packers as an undrafted free agent in 2008.

He was signed by the Dolphins that year off the Packers' practice squad.

His first catch of his career came against the San Francisco 49ers. It was a 19-yard touchdown pass thrown by Chad Pennington.

Last season, he started eight games and split time with Anthony Fasano. He registered162 receiving yards on 19 catches with two touchdowns.

Dolphins waived/injured TE Joey Haynos. Haynos sustained a right foot injury in Friday's game. The Dolphins haven't revealed details, but it looked serious. The third-year tight end's season is over, and he'll be placed on injured reserve once he clears waivers.
