Per Barry Jackson

The potential move would create $4m in dead money but $13m in cap savings. I imagine they would jump on a 3rd round & change offer?

The 2020 draft only gets more interesting. Thank god Picks ‘N Money Irish isn’t calling the shots.

I still can't see any team wanting to take on that contract.

He could have left with Dolphins fans thinking great things about what he has done for the Dolphins, but his attitude has soured a lot of Dolphins fans. Prideful and selfish players just don't understand the importance of that until they retire.

Barry Jackson wrote:
The source in touch with the Dolphins said Miami hasn’t publicly made an issue of Jones skipping OTAs because the Dolphins don’t want to damage his trade value.

Jones – who has a $17.2 million cap hit if he’s on the team - is not expected to be part of the Dolphins’ longterm future, but he still could remain on the team this season if the Dolphins can’t find a trade partner.

From all indications, the Dolphins aren’t of the mindset to simply give him away if they don’t get a draft pick or if the other team isn’t willing to pay at least part of his salary.

Releasing Jones would be pointless, because Miami would have a $17.1 million dead money hit in that scenario and just $100,000 in cap savings. Additionally, $11 million of his $13.1 million base salary this season is guaranteed.

Get what we can get and move him. The biggest reward is getting rid of that contract and mic Fitz can play his natural position

New regime. New era. He got his money.

The NFL & NBA have a lot of Hollywood divas. One of the reasons why I’ve been paying a lot more attention to MMA & Boxing...I respect the athlete’s mentality in those organizations more. I honestly can’t stand some of these NFL & NBA players.

These guys need to know & respect what got them here. Guys who would suit up in sock helmets and hit each other in the head for absolute peanuts in comparison to today...and that was after they got done fighting WW2 or the shift was over at the factory. A lot of these players are children in comparison. They didn’t ***** & complain about politics on issues most of them know nothing about either.

You don’t see that old school mentality in many athletes in football & basketball anymore...ESPECIALLY basketball.

Oh no does this mean the Phin s HC can't coach a difficult player and has to get rid of him instead of coaching him up.

I see no reason not to let him play this year.
