Post Miami at Minnesota game predictions.
The Sun Sentinel's Dave Hyde is picking the Vikings, So, who do you think will win the game? Score?

David Hyde wrote:
Minnesota Vikings 27, Dolphins 17. It's hard to like this matchup for the Dolphins. The Vikings are strong against the rush, meaning the Dolphins need to throw to score. The Saints leaned on the pass in the first half against the Vikings before running more in the second half. Can the Dolphins do that? On the other side, there's Adrian Peterson and Brett Favre to worry about. And it's on the road ...

It is going to be close but I see the Vikes winning. Vikes 26 Fins 17.

Henne needs to pass on 1st downs and early. The Saints threw early and the run opened up in the 2nd half. Cliche time...take what the D gives you. Stop AP on the screen pass and hit him hard and early, the fumbles will come. Blitz Farve and put him on his ass. Make plays, not like last week missing all those balls.

Post Re: Miami at Minnesota game predictions.
I'm going to predict an upset:

1. Henning calls more passing plays on first down in the first half allowing Miami to build a 10 point lead.
2. Favre, under pressure will cough up an INT...bank on it.
3. Miami's defense is the real deal and holds the Vikings to under 17 points
4. Vikings dinged up secondary will give up a few yards
5. Vikings Favre not on same page with WRs, Percy Harvin has a mysterious leg injury. Camarillo will get his revenge but it will be in a losing cause.

Keys to the Game:
1. Miami's coverage on the TE.
2. Turnovers
3. Henning not having a conservative gameplan to start and if he slumps back into a comfort zone too early he might allow the Vikes to win it in the end.
4. ST's need to show up.

Key to the game, which Vikings team shows up. Really out of our control.

seeing as though Favre threw for 171yds and the Vikes put up 9 point last week, I believe the Fins have a chance to beat them before they get rolling and Favre gets on the same page with his receivers......if the Fins are able to contain AP(keep him out of the endzone and under 100yds), then they have a good chance of winning the game.

Of course Miami will need to score more points than they did against Buffalo.......but it could be a 17-14 kinda game, with the Fins winning.

Honestly.. if we win. I expect it to be a blowout... because.. I don't really expect us to win. But, there's always that chance our offense finally comes to play ball.. and our D plays like they did last week.

I think the Phins can win this one. I think Favre and his receivers are going to take some time to gel, and that won't come quick. With the Viking's offense limited, I can see us pulling out a low scoring win. The key will be Miami's ability to have a two dimensional offense, and limit AP. One thing that has worried me in the past but not as much now with his hurt ankle, is Favre's ability to move around in the pocket to buy more time. Favre has a good record against the Phins.

Minnesota is a tough place to win, but this is not the same team that lost in the NFC Championship game to New Orleans.

Brett Farve waiting so long to make a decision to come back hurt, as he has no chemistry with his receivers. Not having Sidney Rice is huge and Percy Harvin has missed a lot of practice time with migraines and now has a hip condition. Greg Camarillo has only been with the Vikings for a few weeks. Vicante Shincoe is the only guy that Farve seems to have any type of chemistry with.

Stopping Adrian Peterson and the running game and getting after Farve will be a big key. The Vikings OL, for a unit that is suppose to be so good looks very suspect to me, and I believe Nolan and the defense will be able to get big pressure on Farve.

Offensively, Brian Hartline needs to step up and be a factor because you know what you will get with Brandon Marshall and Devon Bess. Fasano needs to be a factor in the middle of the field and Henne and Henning need to challenge the Vikings down the field to open up the run game against the Williams wall.

I will make my pick on Sunday in my blog, but I certainly give the Dolphins a chance to get a big win in Minnesota.

I love it when people talk like we don't have a chance.
Favre looked horrible last game! The only effective pass he could make was over the linebackers to Shiancoe. Its the same type of play Fasano almost got a TD on last week. So we better know how to stop it cold. AP will get his yards no matter what. Berrian sucks. Bump Harvin off the line & contain him from the backfield(he'll make some rushes too) Then beat the old man like we did 2 years ago vs the jets.
Henne needs to get into a rhythm quick w/ slants, screens, & flats (which hes been declared only capable of) & when we take pressure from their D-line keep them on their heels.
I know everyone talks about the Vikings as if theyre contenders again this year but there was nothing besides Peterson that made them look tough to me.

I'm calling Miami 20-17 Vikes
& if we can't keep it close like that then maybe we're just as bad as everyone else says

I tried to repress the homer in me before casting my vote but it didn't work.

Objectively, I think the Dolphins have a good shot at a win. When the schedule came out, I circled this game as a loss. Now it is almost a toss up. The Vikings have as many things to fix as the Dolphins do.

Either Hartline or Camarillo will catch the winning touchdown.

I went with the Vikings on this one only because I do not think the Dolphins have their offense in sync right now. Favre is rusty, but he's only going to get better each game.

If the Dolphins can contain the running game and put pressure on Favre, we do have a chance. I would never bet against a Parcells/Sparano team. The Dolphins are well-coached.

Vikings 24, Dolphins 20

This game will be an uphill battle in the noisy Metrodome for the Phins. For alll you HOMERS out there picking Miami to win, your heart is in the right place, but your vision as well as your thought processes are blurred. I gander Minn 24, Mia 13.. Hope I'm wrong!

The problem with these early games is everyone wants to make their assessments of teams based on last year's performance without the understanding that this year's teams are different than last year's. People want to remember the NFC Championship Vikes and NOT the guys who just lost while scoring but 9 points. Guy get older. Guys lose chemistry. Guys get hurt.

I wish we could erase memories at the beginning of each season and look objectively at the team we're going to face: a team that played horribly without any real ability to score.

I call Miami by a close margin.

Miami is playing Minnesota at perhaps the right time. A time when Favre and his receivers are still feeling each other out. Miami's weakness was their pass defense last year, so this is the matchup I am going to focus on. How much progress have we made?

Miami played every team hard in 09, including near wins against Indy and New Orleans. So, I feel like we are going to be in this game the whole way. I am not expecting Miami to win and due to the fact that it is a road NFC matchup, its not the worst game to lose. The games that are essential to our season come in Weeks 3 and 4. My mind is telling me Minnesota by 5-10 points.

*BTW, the losing team after the NFL kick off game (despite the 10 day rest) is 3-5 the following week.

Miami gets to Farve with the blitz and roughs him up. I think that we will grind another close victory but the only thing you will hear about is Farve getting old in the days to follow.

Miami 23 Minnesota 22

PS-Miami is gonna get a pick six today against the old man!

Called it! Too bad we couldn't protect the ball but we forced the fossil into making a few mistakes which we needed to do.
