Why does left tackle Jake Long, a Michigan alum, have $200 worth of quarters in his locker? It's payment from tight end Anthony Fasano, a Notre Dame alum, regarding last week's game, which Michigan won, 28-24.
Fasano got the idea to pay in quarters after Long smarted off, telling Fasano he wanted crisp $100 bills. Fasano called the bank in advance to make sure they had his order ready. He estimated it's about 15 pounds worth of quarters.
"If he's going to take my money he's going to take in quarters and have to go cash it," Fasano said. "Or keep it for parking meters."
Fasano was also supposed to conduct a media interview wearing Michigan apparel but apparently Long forgot.
"He never presented it to me so I wasn't going to remind him," Fasano said.
