I wonder where all the Camarillo-lovers have gone?

Wasn't he supposed to make us regret trading a player you "build a team around?"

1 catch for 3 yards....ooh!

This is two-fold. I will admit that I was wrong about him beating up Miami, however, it's not like he ever got a chance. Is this Camarillo's fault? That can be speculated, but the fact is he was traded about a week before the opening game and is going into a West Coast offense...which can be very difficult for a receiver to learn, let alone just come in and be effective.

Not only is the Minnesota offense struggling, but Camarillo is still learning. I still think he can improve that offense when he starts getting more reps.

Lastly, nobody said you build a team around him.

Given Henne's recent lack of finding someone open, my guess is it was Miami's bigger loss than Minnesota's Gain last week :hithead:

Actually I said that because that was something that a Cam-lover did say. I don't remember which thread, but it was said.

I wasn't going to waste the time finding it, but since you need to question the comment, here is the quote by YOU:

Guys like this, you just don't let get away...you build around them.

Hm..nice find. It appears I did say that, but out of context it seems as though I'm insinuating that he's the focal point of your team. Maybe even the word "around" is the wrong choice...more like, build "with" them. He's not a worldbeater by any means, but he is certainly someone that you want on your team because he just does certain things that others don't....for example, catch the football with his hands every time he gets his hands on it.

Mike Vrabel wasn't a world class athlete, but he was versatile...which isn't necessarily the case with others. Same with Welker. A guy like Polite you don't let go just because you found a better athlete to play football...can he consistently pick up first downs on 3rd and short or 4th and short?
Matt Turk was another one of those guys...he wasn't the league's best punter, but I saw plays where he took a bad snap and ran for a first down, or he'd get a first down by somehow managing to attract a roughing penalty....sometimes he'd be the first guy to make a hit on the punting unit.

Great athletes? Hall of Famers? No...team players that do certain things that don't always show up on the box score.

Nah, just being a smart a$$ in regards to our high powered passing attack... I think Camarillo has more catches in Minn learning a new system then Bess does here as a Vet....

Lol...I walked right into it. But I maintain that I was wrong about this game, but not Camarillo.

Iowa...you and I are usually at odds on here, but I agree with you on Camarillo. Furthermore when you look at those 50 catches last season, he was more or less Henne's goto guy. Henne now appears confused and uncomfortable on what to do with the ball in a lot of cases.

LOL. I figured some of the guys would have to eat crow this week on this one. Even I thought Camarillo would do better than 1 catch for 3 yards, but I think you have to blame Favre for not throwing the ball around. He locked onto one receiver.

As 10acjed said, we don't need Camarillo as even Bess isn't getting any passes. Maybe we'll open up the offense a bit against the Jets.

When the trade first happened I also thought that Camarillo was gonna have a good day against us.

The secondary was a concern of mine....So really I think we have to look at Sapp...We needed him more than we did Cam....

I thought he would just because the player can suck all year until he plays the Dolphins and then all of a sudden he is a freaking pro bowler for one game. Last one to come to my mind is Culpepper.
