Against teams that Miami will be fighting for a playoff spot with, they are now 0-4.

We have another one coming up this Sunday against Tennessee. 0-5 anybody?

The Titans will steamroll us next week. You miss tackles on Rice and McLain and they get big gains...you miss a tackle on Chris Johnson and it is 6 points.

We are "only" two games out, but we haven't beat a team with a winning record yet.

We're 3rd in the divison, 2 games out and don't have the head to head tiebreaker with either of the teams.

Then we can hope for the last wildcard, but we're behind either Pitt or Baltimore and they both have a tiebreaker on us as well.

7-1 in the second half of the season may not be good enough to get us into the playoffs. The fat lady is warming up her voice.

I agree with degs. There are two 11 win teams in the East and North. We don't have the tie breaker in head to head, or AFC record with any of those teams. Even if we go 7-1 down the stretch here (which is possible, although unlikely), we'll still need help getting in.

There is still plenty of football left and an entire second half of the season, but at 4-4 and losing to all AFC teams certainly doesn't give us an edge with the playoff odds.

Watching the Lions throw that game away today along with the Jets getting every freaking break was enough to have me puke.

First Stafford goes down, then their kicker goes down, the Lions miss a critical extra point that no doubt haunted them....watching the Lions throw it on 3rd down, when they should have run the dumb ball to take time off the clock. Watching LT get brought down in bounds only for the ref to say he went out of bounds, then the Lions dumb a linebacker Peterson late hits for another 15 yards.......watching Thanksgiving Turkey Rex Ryan celebrate was sickening.

But no, instead, I am a Dolphins fan that gets to watch critical easy 3rd down catches dropped, excellent play calling on a 3rd and 1 at the goal with a wide open Fasano get fluttered thrown by Henne, who btw just struggles with short touch passes...Sean Smith doing all the right things and puts himself in a perfect place to take it to the house for a pick 6 and he inexcusably drops it.....piss poor tackling. It also seemed like Miami had to rush to the line of scrimmage when they needed those 3 points by Carpenter, that sequence leading up to that kick which would have made it a one score game just appeared hurried to me....par for the course though as it was just one of those games today.

Oh well, it is what it is and hopefully we win at home against Tennessee and get back on track. Stranger things can still happen and they are still in the hunt. Im trying to stay optimistic!!!

We may not be mathematically eliminated yet, but for all intents and purposes, barring the miraculous, this team isn't going to sniff the playoffs. Right now we are playing for experience and ticket sales. Hopefully some of our rookies will contribute this season and we can start building on next year.

I'm just trying to be honest. We are in DEEP DEEP trouble as far as our playoff hopes go. Stranger things have happened, but there really is not a lot of hope at this point.

That comment not only engages my gag reflexes, it should be 'banning' worthy as well.

LOL! I'm sick too, but facts are facts. THe jets and Sanchez find ways to win. Same with Brady and the Pats for years now.

I agree the Jets have been finding ways to win and even though Sanchez wins ugly at times, he is still finding ways to get it done. Hard to argue when your team is 6-2.

I refuse to bash Henne as I know it is hard to play QB in the NFL. I am pulling for the guy, I really am, but at some point the interceptions and bad throws have to minimize. He just isn't there yet.

Time for some perspective.

Look at the weapons Sanchez has compared to Henne.

Sanchez has three wide receivers to throw to that put up numbers. Edwards and Holmes are big play threats who can put up huge numbers. Cotchery is an excellent third option.

Dustin Keller is a big play tight end and LaDanian Tomlinson is a big play running back who can both run and catch.

We have Marshall and a bunch of role players.

The Jets also have excellent special teams and one of the best defenses in the NFL.

Our special teams suck and the defense is inconsistent.

It's not Sanchez alone that is doing it. The Jets are a better team from player 1 to player 53.

I get all that. Holmes and Edwards drop a lot of balls. When Sanchez is off, the Jets don't win. It starts with consistantQB play. Take a look at teams aroound the league.

Sanchez was off most of last year (12 TDs, 20 INTs) and the Jets made it to the AFC Championship game......

Why is that?

Oh yeah, dominant running game, great special teams and a swarming defense...

You forgot to mention that he has improved this year while we are stuck in 2nd gear.

I think the previously mentioned dominant ground game, stout defense, and good special teams addressed that.

Dustin Keller alone has made Sanchez look much better this year. Henne doesn't have a TE who can do that.
