Again, there have been a few of us (Mitch, Rich, Anthony) that have been saying pick a RB (Brown) and stick with him.

Yep ... there has never been a R & R Express. Pick one like the Giants did (Bradshaw) & use the other as a situational guy (Jacobs)

about the topic ... I thought Brown was gonna have a huge game.

Hmmm...the thread started as 10 ypc, and has been revised down to 7 ypc.....Ronnnie had a nice first drive or two, but that was it.

It's all about confidence. The staff doesn't have it in any of their main offensive cogs. Kind of sad actually.

That was it because he had only a hand full of carries after that. The Dolphins gauged the Ravens on the first drive with the run game and Henning went pass crazy. For someone that says he loves the run game, that was a stunnner.

That was the best I have seen Ronnie look all year long and Henning did not go to him nearly enough in the run game.

Your exactly right, I don't know what the heck Henning thinks sometimes. Perhaps Alzheimers is already kicking in for him.

I gotta tell you. This is the first game where our run blocking was dominant. We were blowing guys back off the ball. Making space.. getting yards.. and we stop running.. and start passing.. to where as our Pass Protection got beaten up pretty good.

I remember the Bills feeding Thurman Thomas the ball, run or pass and we couldn't stop him. They just kept doing it over and over and wore us out. I don't understand after that first drive why we didn't do the same things until they stopped us. What is it with this coaching staff?

Should Ronnie have ripped the ball out of Henne's hand on passing plays and ran it?

Yes. Let's let Ronnie RIP through the Baltimore defense on our first drive and shove down their throat for a touchdown and then let him carry the ball like 3 more times for the REST of the entire ball game. Makes perfect sense to me.....

.....because the defense sucks and we were playing catchup.

Miami was within 3 points much of the game. Your comment makes no sense.

On stick with one back...how about sticking with the hot hand. Two weeks ago it was Williams, today it was Brown.

Your comment is asinine as Miami was down by 3 for 16 minutes of the game...or just over a quarter...otherwise they were down by 7, down by 6, down by 10, 13, and 16....they were down by 2 scores for the entire second half minus the first 5 minutes.

We were down by 7 when Ronnie tied the game. Then we were down by 3, then by 6. Being down by less than one TD is playing catchup? Our second drive Ronnie didn't even see the field, 3 passes and our offense went back to the sideline. We should've known right then that we needed to run the ball to win the game, it was obvious.

The playcall that killed me the most was on 3rd and goal from the one, we PASS???? Hadn't Ronnie been killing them??? What about Polite??? We should have been able to pound the ball into the endzone, instead we ask Henne to throw the one pass he is worst at. Henning needs shot, then fired.

Mike Mularky? Is that you?

So just because you're down by 7 you have to go completely away from what's working and start playing "catch-up" football?

To be honest, I did not have a problem with the playcall. It was a heck of a call. Fasano was wide open. I love Henne, but he missed him. Came out of his hand wrong in that type of a situation...tough break. But that's on Henne, not Henning.

I know PhinsRock, but I am of the opinion that you ride the hot hand in that situation, and that was our running game.

I agree that you ride what works. But you have to acknowledge that it was a good playcall. It went down just as it was scripted. Henne just didn't make the throw.

If they had run it, would they have pounded it in? I don't know, maybe. I think Sparano and Henning had flashbacks to January 2008, and decided they weren't going to suffer the same fate this time around.

If we had run it, and not made it, then not only are we complaining that we ran the most obvious play call and we should have ran a PA pass, but Carpenter is also rushed onto the field for a FG and who knows what happens there.

Any time I bring up a fact to completely rip anything you say, you pull out an ad hominem to make yourself feel better. Why don't you grow up.

So just because you're down by 7 you have to go completely away from what's working and start playing "catch-up" football?

I didn't say that. After the first drive, Miami had one run to Williams, then an interception. Then they went three and out after a screen and two passes. Then it was the two minute drill, so a lot of passing. Then to open the half it was Ricky for nothing, and a few passes then a punt. Then they went down by multiple scores.

At which point they gave the ball back to Ronnie, moved the ball, then Ronnie himself dropped a critical 3rd down play.

This isn't play calling all the way, folks. When you have a screen that goes for -4 yards and guys dropping passes it's easy to say "Well we should have done this." The fact is, Miami defense couldn't stop Baltimore, so Miami's possessions were limited.

That's the type of play where Henne got most of his TD passes last year.
